Post team chat
there seems to be very little use of the team chat in the public servers ,means your only idea of whats going on tactically is the compass

Post Re: team chat
I have never heard it in use in any game, ever. BF2, COD4, MW2, BFBC2, MOH and now CODBO. Correction: never heard it used to help other team mates.

They might as well save that bit of coding and squeeze in some proper coding instead that actually serve a purpose. Only team chats I've ever heard are from prepubescent's mouthing off = instakick or mute.

Certainly in COD4 most servers I came across had this feature disabled in the config.

Post Re: team chat
I think Freak was talking about typing team chat - but either way; yea neither of them are used very often in this game. On my favorite servers there might be about 10 regulars that will use voice but no one types unless it is to accuse hacking going on. lol.

To turn the tables to the other side if you think voice is bad on the PC - my wife and I purchased an XBOX (for her - not me) just after the beginning of January and a few nights ago she got into her first MP game in COD:Black Ops. About the third map in there was a 10 year old kid (he actually announced he was 10) that talked himself up for a few minutes about how he was "pwning" everyone and then proceeded to sing like a girl for about 5 minutes non stop. We couldn't find a mute option...

On another note; I miss the old VSAY commands that would allow your player character to shout "Enemy spotted!" or "They're behind us!". Many times used comically but I still find them very useful when playing UO at times because some people actually listen to them. Instead now our player characters just shout stupid things uncontrollably when throwing grenades or C4 or planting Claymores that just give away positions. To make it even cheesier the players say something totally different when viewing the Killcam then what they said when the kill actually took place. lol.

maybe they could make it so that each player can only have 5 commands in a match , and have simple binded ones like go bomb a , or flank left for example
