TRTL, since you seem to be very 'ill-witted' towards HOS, how does this sound to you?

I will be going to GDC and meeting up with Heycarnut on March 2nd, and possibly March 3rd. I will be staying in San Francisco from March 2nd till the 5th and have plenty of time to play HOS.

I am a Battlefield person. I like vehicles, jets, helicopters, the whole 9 yards. That being said, I know that Indie's are the future, if you are fed up with the lack of creativity, innovation, and greed in the current 'mainstream' game development industry. Besides being an open developer, Tripwire has produced a game, and, judging by Sam's reaction, I think it will be great.

I'll tell you what though, and this goes for any COD, BF, FPS gamer out there. If I like it, based on what I've said, you're damn straight I'm going to promote the hell out of it! Why wouldn't I? If I like the game, then why wouldn't you? I'm a BF player, and I can say I don't like playing COD too often. If this appeals to both COD and BF gamers, why the hell is everyone so skeptical!!!

Seriously, for those of you that have skepticism towards Indie's, and this goes for any Indie developer, if the game is crap, no one is going to get it or like it. Obviously, if the game is good, it will popular, or so we hope.

TRTL, I ask you to wait until March 2nd. I will be playing the game first hand then. It's not you playing it, but I understand you like BF, as do I.

Just wait ;).

At GDC there likely won't be a playable version available to the public. Actual game demonstrations do happen but in press rooms. Remember GDC is to recruit new team members not to play games. But perhaps you could contact Yoshiro or Ramm (give them a pm on these forums) and they could perhaps make an arrangement for you.

The same for heycarnut remember to make some arrangements beforehand so TWI can perhaps plan a meeting with you guys. TWI has met up at events with people from communities before, so they would likely do it again. But make sure you get in contact, so they can tell you when the holes in their schedule are.

So now if RO doesn't have as many vehicles as BF3, it doesn't matter because it's of better quality in your opinion. It's quit amusing watching you guys jump from one side of the fence to the next.

I give up. We will just wait and see the numbers of people playing the two games and then we can compare. ;)

Its a design choice by TWI to make less vehicles but to model them fully so you can utilize all features those vehicles had. Red Orchestra: Ostfront did have a vast amount of vehicles but they decided to go with less for ROHOS to add more detail.

Now I'm not saying either of the two is better, more functional and visual details or more total vehicles. But personally I lean to more details especially as it brings game play to the table that hasn't been there before.

But in anyway what you prefer over what is not a clear reason why one of the two is better, it only shows a point where the two games are different. And every player in every community is different. Both me and lemon are in the same RO community yet we have vastly different thoughts about our ideals in games. The same will be the case in the BF community. There is never a game that completely fits your preference, and for some BF players HOS can over a game that will be more to their liking than BF3 and visa versa.
