There has been 2 new patches today with the last patch released just recently. Myself and others can no longer launch the game due to it crashing. Anyone else got this issue?

Re: New Patch
I don't know if you have read on their official forums, but it looks like a circus. There was over 10 pages of bugs the first day of release posted on their forums.
It looks like they rushed this game out the door to beat BF3/MW3 release dates. Not sure if that was smart with this many bugs. They might have had better luck waiting till early next year and when the hype of BF3 and MW3 is over, and then release the game.
I think they should have stuck with their plan for a large scaled beta testing. Might have helped solve just some of the main issues. +Server browser not showing servers +Server browser not showing ranked servers properly +Rank system not working +MP ctd's +sp ctd's +co-op ctd's +several bugs in several maps (map glitches) +no sdk out of box like promised +pb support wasn't ready on release date(i think they got that fixed now) +many many more
It started out with over 10,000 people playing the first day of release and has went down every day since then. Today it has topped out at 7,000. Looks like people are already starting to leave this game. Then need to get this playable for the majority fast if they don't want it to tank.
I am glad I didn't tell my guys to pre-purchase this game. By time they get it fixed, the other games will be out and my guys won't have any interest in playing it then. Maybe we will take a look at it next year.

Game stats always take a drop after launch e.g. black ops came out 100,000 players next day 60,000 so on until it gets down to 20,000.

No they usually build for the first few months depending on how good the game is. Not everyone buys it the first day it's out. Some wait to see how others like it and watch for reviews.

Re: New Patch
It won't last till October 28th when BF3 hits the stores in the UK.
I love how you defend a game that already 4 days after launch is losing players. Yes BO did lose players but they had more than 9,000 playing it. With HOS losing players it will effect an already small community and it will become even smaller once the big games come out. They should have waited till Easter 2012 when the big games would have already been out for 5-6 months as that is when players get bored and look for something new. Which is when HOS could have taken a bigger chunk in terms of sales. But not 6 weeks before the most anticipated game ever and the only game to walk away with the most awards in BF3. That would have given them more time to fix the issues not rush out it.
I think they should do is fix those 5 or 6 really game breaking bugs and roll them out as quickly as possible and then hunker down to make a huge patch that fixes everything else. The long the game stays just somewhat finished, the less players will play every day. If they manage to push out a massive patch to fix almost all bugs by the end of the month, I think people will come back to it. And this is RO, not your rinse repeat, locked down gameplay. We'll have the RO2 SDK soon and people will start to improve the game in their own way. Sometimes games need a little push to help them survive. I can tell you right now that if Halo: Custom Edition wasn't released in 2005, the Halo PC community would be dead. But it's still going strong with new innovations every year, despite the limitations of the engine/mod tools. Since RO2 is virtually unlocked, I can see great things coming of this game. We have already seen some of the progress of the modding teams for this game so I think it won't be too bad in the long run. However, I can say that I know I won't be playing the base game for very much longer after the big mods start to roll out. They capture my interest a hell of a lot more than the Battle of Stalingrad.
Just look that this image of the Peleliu Beach Landing (spoilered due to image size):
