one single sentence has alarm bells for me
in the recent Ask 402 on Redit, I noticed this simple question and answer that set alarm bells ringing for me Quote: Q:What are some examples of the loved and less-loved stuff you'll be removing/implementing in multiplayer?
A: [–]fourzerotwo Loved: High gun damage, gun on gun focus, depth of features but simplistic in design. Less-loved / removed: OMA, Commando, Overpowered Explosives, Nukes, Last Stand aka Second Chance perk. High gun damage, this leads me to think it will be a 2 shots and dead, spray, lo-skill shooter just like BlackOps, and will prob end up just the same with it being pointless having different guns in each class coz 1 will do !! , I hope this isnt the case but its looking that way. seems to be alot of talk about IW wanting to make MW3 more like Cod4 but maybe this too is marketing sound bites, tbh I only heard that AFTER the BF3 demo was so well recieved !! .

Re: one single sentence has alarm bells for me
That's what concerns you about MW3? Personally I want higher damage - not necessarily one-shot kills but equally not lots of spraying with what are supposed to be lethal minutions to drop someone.
Personally I have much graver reservations about this game - mostly around the direction Activision and their devs have taken the CoD series and how they "support" the PC community (i.e. pretty much not at all). Look at the latest news on the main page to see what I mean. Time after time they confirm that they aren't really interested in PC gamers, so why should we continue to support them? I didn't buy MW2 and the way it looks, I won't be buying MW3 either.

Just be prepared for SMGs to out class all other weapons in MW3 if they up the damage.

Re: one single sentence has alarm bells for me
spawnstar i do not quite understand your cncerns... black ops was far from a 2 shot low spray game.
in fact the gun balance was very decent in barebones. and who gives a flying fart about public balance anyway?
the game that was a 2shot kill lowshow was MW2. an SMG with the penetration of an AK and a 2-3 shot kill on any range? yeah sure.
when he mentioned the high gun damage he pointed out mw1 and its fast paced gun to gun gameplay and their damage.. and tbh, I can perfectly live with that. just not another mw2 in terms of balance please.

Re: one single sentence has alarm bells for me
lol, Blackops is exactly a lo skill spray game, that why the famas and the AK74u grip rapid fire rules all, and as for barebones balance, really? no-one plays barebones, more chance finding a poplulated unranked server, and as for mw2 barebones, there is 29 people WORLDWIDE playing right this moment !!, whats the point in even trying to balance a game for a mode with a tiny fanbase, the main core of the player base is standard tdm
Ive played all the Cods from 1 with over 1k hours in all except Blackops , its by far the weakest game yet, No balance period, EVERYONE uses FAMAS assualt, AK74U SMG, maybe a few use other guns but they dont win !!!
There is a reason MW2 has a larger following 19 months after release, even with its bastardized IWNET and Overpowered killstreaks and cheats and every other fault its got, its a better over all game, the figures tell the story, Having dedicated servers and a theatre mode means sh!t when the core gameplay is so horid. I have never ever seen DLC so poorly recieved , they had to pretty much give it away in "competitions" and still there was no rise in player numbers , in fact Blackops players dramatically dropped. its a poor game , just like 3archs last abortion WaW end of.

Re: one single sentence has alarm bells for me
well, of course, its public... in mw2 everyone was quickscoping or ump.. in waw everyone mp40.. in cod4 everyone ak or aku (except that cod4 had a better balance of perks, dmg etc)... so whats your point? :/
you seriously ask who plays BB?? EVERY DECENT PLAYER. all pro teams play barebones, because all leagues and ladders enforce it. and its balance is nice and makes for a fun game.
seriously.. who cares for the crowd

W@W wasn't a solid game to begin with and it took a number of patches before it was (so I have been told) and by that time a lot of people stopped playing it. To be honest pretty much the same as BO.

To be honest pretty much the same as BO. You are pretty much right. Only thing is, BO was a lot more popular and a lot more finished than CODWAW was. They(CODWAW) gave away free maps and still couldn't get people to play it.

seriously.. who cares for the crowd Lol, wheres the Raa raa rant gone ? edit:: anyhow the game is made for the 250000+ people that bought it, on PC, not the 0.5% of that that play BB or whatever. Its balanced (or hardly in Blackops) for the market with the most players, the pub gamers , not the wanabee l33t, forum ranters, "Pro" gamers or even ladder league gamers , so really the whole point was : seriously who cares for the non-crowd ! The game (MW2) isnt out but when it is your bb will be just like blackops or mw2, they will decide wot you get , Activision are looking to squeeze out your leagues and then you pay your elite monthly subscriptions for competition gaming, they are gona offer prizes that will far exceed current prizes and tempt all the pro-gamers away , I would put money on you not being able to touch your configs either. what black ops is after the "pro" players make their rules up is irrelevent , the base game is naab, spray and sub par , you will prob get your mod tools as a MW3 pre-order bonus, lol Quercus wrote: That's what concerns you about MW3? If you hate it and aint buying it then why do you even have an opinion , let alone post in the MW3 section , of course that not only what concerns me about MW3, all the other things have been covered in loads of detail (all with you reminding us how much you hate it all!!!) I was pointing out 1 thing i noticed
