I first made this thread over on the IW forum on Wedneaday 21st October 2009, just to watch it as a barometer.

Activision Share Price Index; CLICK HERE

On that day, the shares started at $12.33. Day by day, the shares have fallen further and further as per;-

22nd October Stocks now at $12.20

24th October Stocks now at $11.52

28th October Stocks now at $11.39

When I first posted this, boy did I get slated as someone who knows nothing about the stock market. But like I said, I posted it as a barometer and I guess those that called me out over it are NOT laughing anymore. In a week, we are seeing a drop of 7.62% and the trend throughout the week has been DOWN!

I'll keep this thread updated, as the IW forum is obviously not stable lol.

This is potentially a good thing though right?

The shareholders are who fund the game, correct me if i'm wrong?
Like i said before it's worked in the same way as a movie release in that the first week is the most crucial week for any game or movie.
If the price is falling already surely the share holders will be up in arms too, they're gonna lose big style, waitago infinty ward, not only have you managed to piss off the pc community, the xbox community, but next it will be your shareholders.lmao.

Epic Fail!

Most definitely a good thing. Nice going, webbie. Unless the stockholders are following our own little drama, they won't be fully aware of what transpired until there is a further fall in stock prices, and somebody decides to get out of the stock in a big way. that could trigger a quicker, steeper fall, and if enough big stockholders get burned they are going to want to know exactly what happened to cause the losses. then the muttonheads at IW who made the decision to piss on the pc community will begin to really feel the heat for their shortsightedness.

unfortunately, no matter whether IW decides to change their mind and correct their errors or not, they have already stirred up a hornet's nest, and this is going to cause a glitch in their income stream. they have essentially lost the support of the pc community and are going to play hell getting the trust back. and I for one hope that it stings them to their core.

Amazingly enough, many of the players I come in contact on pub websites arent aware of what has happened to MW2, and are still eagerly anticipating it --- until I or someone else fills them in on the news. then you can hear the proverbial pin drop while they digest the news. then howls of rage fill the air as another bunch of players decide either to cancel their pre-orders or decide to sit on their hands and see what will happen. apparently not a lot of pc players are looking forward to becoming defacto console players at all. counterstrike -source is getting a lot of talk as a fallback to mw2. considering that its current worldwide play and server levels are already about double that of cod4, a mass migration to that program alone could sink the cod ship with little more than a ripple. way to go, IW.
