Post yitch3.cfg
A lot of people have asked me to come up with "yitch3.cfg"

While I don't think we can really improve on fps, I've added some of the ideas I've had and some that i've seen on here...like puller's flash nade indicator.

I want to have a config that maximizes fps and registration. Please have a look and tell me what you don't like and what you'd like to add.

Remember suggestions are very welcome ...please post your own cvars you'd like to throw in and why!

I've actually removed even more eyecandy from the config but added some of it back thru toggles (binds Fx)

There are toggles for maxpackets, snaps, maxfps, lagometer, level of detail, field of view, texture, bulletmarks, and gamma.

I am actually thinking of adding a seta r_detail "1" toggle so that people can see their cammo. That's THE most common question i get about yitch2. Everyone wants their damn cammo. lol. Possibly a toggle for maxLights and one for picmips - cuz PB boots you for picmips 3 sometimes (depending on the server). I'll prolly remove the maxpackets and snaps toggles.

Default changes to yitch3:

- I've set corpse count completely off
- lagometer is now on
- Enabled flash grenade warning
- Larger nade icon
- Nade icon in scope
- Larger nade icon
- removed pulsing nade indicators (apparently I was giving people epileptic fits)
- seta cl_timeNudge "-15" ...ya i don't think this will do anything, but just in case...:) i've psyched myself into thinking that it improves my registration LOL. Placebo effect methinks. If you *believe* it works in CoD4, then set the value to your ping/4. No one has still totally convinced me it is set off - and i havent yet looked at the code in COD4.
- seta m_pitch "0.019" mouse settings adjusted ( a pro told me to try these out to get better up/down and side speed)
- seta m_yaw "0.019" ....not sure I see too much benefit.
- ive set seta sm_maxLights "4" for a bit better visibility. But i'll prolly turn this back to 1 on my config as my puter really struggles for speed.
- seta waypointiconheight "15" made bomb site icons smaller
- seta waypointiconwidth "15"

ok will give it a go np - cheers.

cl_timenudge .....! Hmmm very nice if so the case, you can do a lot with such a setting being available.

Total agree on the mouse scale rates if you have never thought of trying this then nows the time too...

Setting an asymetric pitch and yaw rate for your mouse is very common. Eventhough it takes time to adjust to the feeling it has some great advantages to how you play AND move especially ( react )..!! For example our eyes move at far greater speeds left and right than they do up or down ( think of focusing near to far vice versa), it makes sence that our POV should do the same. With wide screen monitors giving us a letter box view and FOV of 80 a faster turn speed pays off imo.

my current settings:
seta m_yaw "0.042" //0.022 default
seta cl_yawspeed "300" // 140 default

seta m_pitch "0.066" //0.022 default
seta cl_pitchspeed "300" // 140 default
Pitch scale and speed are linked in order to keep the movement curves natural in feel - same for yaw. Get a good feel for HOW each one changes your movement then blend the two values to your personal preffrence.

lol on the fit's - hadn't noticed how fast it was actually.

Nice man thanks - I used your ver2 to start me off initially and it saved me loads of time and effort.

cool.

I have left and right also faster than, up and down.
I think its better.

I will try the new config, the bomb signs seem intersting

So is it faster than yitch2?

Believe it or not my favorite server kicks me for that  it has to be 0.022 or something

And yitch, with your new config I could get a better ping and registration.
I decreased max fps to 125 (more stable) and increased the maxpackets to 42 (That is the most I can do with my crap connection)
This should be the sweet spot thing when my calcualtions arent wrong.

According to the fps calc on funender's site you get a 9% increase on jumpheight, if the game physics run the same. I'm not convinced they are?

0.019" ??? why??? For what reason???

They ring fence this game in some strange ways lol.

I had it because its in yitch's config.
I dont have a clue what it does and I didnt feel a difference either.

On the page you posted I cant find anything about yaw.
Or do you mean the sweet spot?

The server admins just find out one day how to configure pb and then they forbid whatever comes to their minds.
What can I do its my favourite server with the best people on it?

The dynamic lights are pretty nice, you see like a camera flash when somebody shoots from a building and they dont drop the fps anymore since I go for 125fps now.

@PULLER
Perhaps FLASH can tell us the exact function of these two commands, but the way i see it, the two yaw and the two pitch commands allow you to change the scale (e.g. m_yaw) and rate (e.g. cl_yawspeed) your mouse will sweep side-to-side (yaw rotation) and up and down (pitch rotation).

My understanding is that cl_yawspeed and pitch though are for keypad and keyboard. I did not think they affected mouse speeds.

Most of the pro gamers out there will drop the yaw and pitch amplitude values to 0.019. This allows them to be more precise - however, you will need to move your mouse further to sweep your view from target A to B. Most pros will move their mouse quite a bit during the game 5-10" is typical for them.

For the average public server gamer like me, i like my "throw" a little smaller. You can thus set your yaw/pitch variables higher. FLASH's variables are nearly triple stock. I tried them and honestly I became a bit disoriented (they're too sensitive for my monitor/res and almost made me throw up lol.)

The cool part of all this is that you can adjust the vertical and horizontal separately. As FLASH correctly states, this is a means to change the mouse sensitivity asymmetrically.

@FLASH
Am I correct about cl_yawspeed & cl_pitchspeed?

http://www.rtcw.jolt.co.uk/content/enem ... pitch.html

It is definately about mouse speeds, I dont know about the cl_yaw thing.

The trick is to get this elipse which just symbolises the mouse speeds left/right up/down.
My server does not allow me to adjust yaw at all, but i can decrease pitch, what makes the elipsis flatter too.
Now I just have to get the sens a bit higher.

Yes my friend,

They have no effect in CoD4 I tried it, but then again you don't move in this game the same or exploit bugs. In quake they make a difference to strafing and circle jumps - as part of the movement is a change in rotation/direction anyway. Hence they will be converted to vectors with magnitutde - when you weave up a road left to right dogging fire and brimstone the smoothness of the player changing direction is curved not square. Your actual player movement is more like a sine wave than a square wave - watch someone running its pretty fluid. I believe cl_yawspeed and cl_pitchspeed have something to do with that type of motion change ( via keys ) - a rate of change. Have never been completely sure though. I notice it in quake, or think I do - maybe its a bit of Jock's cl_timenudge mind control coming in - "I believe and i'm sure its working"

If you do try my settings again halve your mouse senz - Its will be more like your normal speed now. However turns don't run out of pace, or distance. Its gives a feel of lightness and cat like reflex's - lol. I much perfer it but I like fast turning reflex moves.

seta m_filter "0"
seta m_forward "0.25"
seta m_pitch "0.066"
seta m_side "0.25"
seta m_yaw "0.042"
seta sensitivity "2.8" // was 4.2 @ 0.022

Nice find Puller... 8-)

See I don't like high senz settings personally and I also don't move my mouse any large distances to get away using low senz. By increasing the values above 0,022 I can reduce my senz but keep some control on how far I have to actually move my mouse ( small mouse mat - A4 size icemat ).
