Post Binding a button to record a Demo
I am after some assistance in a script to record demos Start/Stop etc whilst in game.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

would bind F8 "record match" work? hmm not sure how to make it change the name... so its like record match1 match2 etc. ill give this 1 a go gonna have to record for Cal

If that doesn't work, you can try this. I've used this for years on Quake engine games, and it hasn't failed me yet.
One button start and stop.

Code:
bind F11 "vstr demorec"
seta startrec "g_synchronousClients 1; record; g_synchronousClients 0; set demorec vstr stoprec"
seta stoprec "stoprecord; set demorec vstr startrec"
seta demorec "vstr startrec"

Thanks for all your replies, I’m going try them out today. Hopefully if this works it will make it less unlikely to forget to record a demo in a match

Worked like an absolute dream, pure genius!! thanks Sanity, Volatile and Paroxysm. I went with Volatiles script in the end.

just remember if your doing CAL you cant do complex binds (which sucks)
