Post MW2 Internet Connection of the Servers?
Hey guys/girls,

i didn't got it at all, my question now is:

Will the hostet server on MW2 trough iw.net use the internet connection of the user who is starting the onlime game?

Or will it be like this, that if someone starts an online game trough iw.net, iw.net will host the game on one of their servers near the user?

I think its's first, but if it's so it's a complete mess, how many people have the Internet Connection to host a stable 5vs5 game, and all the whine then if 2 clans play vs each other: We Host, no we...

Please clear it up for me, if someone knows for sure.

Greez Seth

Honestly, I think a lot of people have the bandwidth to support a 5v5 or even 10v10 (in the States at least). Talk to some people in-game about their connection speeds, and you'll be suprised. I live in a relatively rural area an hour and a half outside Chicago, and my ISP offers up to 50x20. I have the basic middle of the line service tier right now and i get anywhere from 20x7 to 25x10 depending on time of day, usage of other people on the system, etc. Those speeds are only going up over time. It wasn't that long ago when the best I could get without paying 150$/month was 8x1.

As far as competition goes, I guess the best solution would be to have an independent party (CEVO/TWL/whatever admin) host the game. I think this is how the XBL kiddies do it. Then again, if there's no way to at least half-way make a competetive mod, it will probably never work out anyway.
