Post Meltdown
This is my open letter to whomever cares (IW and Activision certainly do not). I have finally had it with all the cheats and glitches. Jock Yitch summed up what I was already dealing with: a noob friendly game that anyone could pick up and play but this I was able to put aside and deal with. Thinking that each day I logged in to play everything that was wrong with the game would just right itself the next time.

Well things have escalated to the point where 1 in 3 games now an aimbot is in the mix and dont forget toss in the glitch carepackage sprinters. Fun huh? Yeah I enjoy playing with cheats and glitchers its great to be handed your ass while your trying to unlock achievements legit.

Even better you call them out and you get the LoLumad? comments and racial slurs and expletives from the people who are using the cheats and glitches. Thanks to IW and a crappy steam vac anticheat the cheats and glitchers rule the game. If ever the plan was to destroy pc online gaming these guys have done a great job they have broken my spirit for sure. I would never recommend or buy anything off steam or from IW and activision again.

Sad thing is this was our chance to show everyone pc gaming is boss. What did we do we made MW2 one of the best selling games ever and got crapped on for it. If this stuff does not infuriate you guys as much as it does me then im sorry if you have made it this far in my raging rant.

All I can say is BRING ON BATTLEFIELD BAD COMPANY soon as it ships ill be done with activision and IW for good im hoping alot of you guys do the same.

Boz

Eh I have no problems with rants. But dont hate on steam because IW wanted VAC to take care of the cheaters on its own. VAC was created to co exist with dedicated servers to work the best. No anti cheat can hold up on its own without local admins to help police.

Well come on VAC aint doing it no matter what you say, so the guy above as a point, even pb was not this bad, and tbh the game is as described by jock, if you like that type of play running around knifing or noob tubing well crack on, if you want something competitive to bring your skills out, go back a step to cod4 or other titles and yes bring on BFBC2, now that will be a team based game that I am looking forward to.

I bought the game out of curiosity got to i think 2nd prestige ( god knows how i lasted that long ) then put it in its case uninstalled and now twiddling me thumbs, how many other peeps do you think have done the same, I will say a lot of competitive players.

All I can say to MW2 players is noob on ;)

Oh good work jock keep it up fella ;)

Why dose everyone think that this game is going to be the saving grace when it is most likely going to to follow the IW $$$$$ way of thinking. Havent you not played BFBC1 the game that was brought out for console only? BFBC2 is going to follow the IW path do not kid yourself. Dice have a worse record of helping there comunity than IW and IW dont even have a comunity manager who could draw a picture of a pc let alone use one. Dice have released a few games now and have shown little or no respect for there comunity, why should that change now? The news we got from Dice when MW2 released seems to be all smoke and mirrors. What use are dedi servers without much control? or mod tools. The niche market of pro gaming that everyone talks about seemed to do a fine job of keeping people away from world at war aswell. If it was such a niche why arent there more of us still playing that game? Why arent we all learning from MW2 instead of jumping on the next shiny object that comes up to get our hopes up far exceeding reality. Im not saying dont look forward to BFBC2 im saying dont fool others into thinking this is going to be something amazing because MW2 was such a disapointment.

as i used to own a Counter-Strike Source server, i know VAC works best with ADMIN control.. i myself havent run into any cheats.. the only thing stopping me from playing it is the horrible Field of view.

I really wish people would stop saying that "VAC is great, as long as you have admins."

That doesn't mean VAC is good. It means human administrators are good. Admins are the best anti-cheat in online gaming. It should be obvious by now that VAC does little on its own. Allowing cheaters to play with everyone for a month for free? That's a lame anti-cheat.

This sums up my biggest problem with VAC as an anti-cheat on its own:

Quote:
If someone walks into a restaurant covered in feces, it's going to make the other customers leave. So you get him out as fast as you can. You don't let him sit for a while to lull him into a false sense of security so he can call up his urine and vomit covered friends so you can kick them all out. "Oh no, was it the feces, urine, or vomit that got us kicked out?" Negative, you get the one guy out immediately. Same with the vomit guy, and the urine guy. Don't let them ponder which one caused it. Make it clear that any foul crap will get them banned from the establishment.

Oh, but that's too hard. It's easier to wait until they gather en masse to kick them out at the same time. But where did the paying customers go? Obviously it doesn't matter. They already paid. So did the biohazard crew. And since you got the biohazard crew confused about why they were kicked out, they had to look around to find some other foul mess to bring into the place. So they paid again, so you could kick them again. I guess that works if they're paying for food in the first place. But if they aren't, all that happened was they ran out the paying customers. You got their money once, but they won't be back.

I love the douchebaggery post. That's great. I only have one suggestion. Change the killstreaks to get your first killstreak as a care package. Then u can run (when u need to) at light speed with the cpm glitch. I mean, i see all these noo....i mean, gamers, playing and saying "but it's in the game, it's not a glitch." So obviously, if the noo......er, i mean, players say it's not a glitch, then obviously, it's fair game. And if you want to run around hunched over, at light speed, lunging from 20 meters away on your bad laggy game, and plunge your knife in someone's head, all the better!!!

i'm going to get flaimed for this :P but hey..

i know there a lot of people that are not happy with the way some aspects of MW2 have turned out, don't get me wrong i love deli's and a proper server browser.

i think this game is good, i mean realy good. My clan has been playing war/leauge games and tournaments since it came out. we've been playing cod4 and css for about 6 years together before this and also been to a few lans.

people seem to be very quick to jump on the bad things of this game when it came out

take the aspect of you cant edit you config file, thats create because every one is playing with the same visual and network settings. making it a lot fairer on every one.

in the post you talk about " I don't remember ever using a tube back in CoD4 and I wouldn't even use the shotty back in CoD2. Why? I didn't want to advertise myself as a noob." well the same still applies we win lots of game and we never use tubes, shotguns or any of the lame stuff. if you are good enough at the game you don't need too. The game has been made easier for noobs a bit, it just means we need to step our game up.

i do have the odd laggy game, but cod4 and css I used have the same problem if i joined some one's crap server, getting abused by admins telling me i'm hacking and people using blank rates making them selves harder to hit.

the game is realy popular 110k people according to the EU servers tonight, there are lots of clan on quakenet looking for PCW's

the big problem with this game now is that IW still are not telling us any news on when the big patch is coming, they have kind of hinted they are but we don't know when.

theres some fun games to be had lets go go go .....
