Seriously, BFBC2 isn´t a good FPS - not even close. It might seem like a very good game when compared to MW2, but it simply isn´t all that its hyped up to be. The semi-dedicated servers doesn´t make BFBC2 any less of a console-port, than is the case of MW2. Dice and Activision are both pretending to listen to the pc-community when in fact they couldn´t care less.
CoD4 isn´t the perfect FPS IMO, but despite its age it is the superior game - especially when combined with promod.



I´ve complained about this issue ever since I began playing CoD1. Fixing this issue should have been on the developers minds long before the ever began thinking about bullet penetration and destructible enviroment. It´s all about gettin the basic stuff of a FPS done right and only then begin to think about all the gimmiks. We shouldn´t have to worry about connectivity issues, hitreg or if your avatar is able to go prone. This is 2010 - there´s simply no excuse for the sluggish controls of BFBC2 and the (bad) joke that is IWnet of MW2.

This backward evolution has got to stop or the FPS-genre on the PC-platform is going the way of the Dodo ...

its bfbc2, not bf3... bf3 will be "the blank". end of story. bc2 is a great game combine this with bf2 and say hello to pc game of the yr, bf3.

Well I agree with you saying that FPS games should focus on the basics. So many shooters have failed because they are trying to hard to revolutionize the genre. The problem is developers are pushed by critics and gamers to try and come up with original ideas but they more often then not turn out to be nothing more then gimmicks. I think a perfect example of this is Starcraft 2, you have a lot of kids who know nothing about gameplay and game design whining about how it looks like just like the original. They fail to realize that people say they want variety but when they get it they just want what they had in the past, WAW anyone? (a pretty decent game but because it wasn't just like cod4 it suffered)

ps. I really like BFBC2 but it does have some core issues like you mentioned that keep me from enjoying the game as much as I should. Mainly the lack of enemy footstep sounds and the fact that they upped the weapon damage instead of really fixing hit reg (its kind of ridiculous that the medic's lmg has a lower time to kill then an assault rifle because they gave it 25% boost in damage since the beta that totally upsets the weapon balance)

LMAO ! what with hackers ! care pack bugs, P2P, campathons whiny guys on voice, abuse, blank FOV, and not to mention blank steam, and all its bugs!

No disrespect but I got a server, I can kick/ban blank heads ! I can pw my server I can sort out a match (In Princible) I got Pbbans! Banning cheating scum in real time!!! It looks as good, if not better than MW2, and in a few days all will be fine! What it now ? 4 months (MW2) and its still wank lol


It makes me Laugh! PC gamers are becoming a right bunch of moaning girls lol as I have experienced over 15 years of PC gaming, no game ever goes smooth right from the box, that’s what makes PC games better, they adapt and improve ! PC gaming has always been a bit of a challenge,

In the day you had to config sound cards in DOS mess with IRQ,s and all sorts of blank just to get it to play ! But from that came what we know today, the platform is ground breaking! And thank blank for that! Or there would not be any on-line gaming maybe the PC has taken a step back so far as developers are concerned! But its only due to the sales in consoles, PC gaming is still the elite and that’s a fact, it’s just the developers are trying to balance between sales and the true on-line pioneer!

PC community should stop being spoilt kids and chill, if you think it’s bad now look @ the early games and what we had to do to make them work, no one was moaning back then ! We just got on with it

I can understand your frustration. I too got pissed off not being able to join servers, and yer ! the fact that you can’t join or find your BFBC2 server by IP is bloody silly. and @ times had me peed off, but hopefully I can add it to fav;s or history soon and ill not have to spend ages hunting for it  connection problems have not really been an issue for me, unless the master server was down, but then that was done to try and fix it, I’m sure most of the problem is cuzed by untold amount of gamers trying to login. I think even DICE was not expecting that.

I men no personal dig @ cod players , But I’m just fed up seeing PC guys moan on about what they demand and blank like that, It all started with MW2, B4 that we was relatively happy bunch, and I think some assume they are owed something ! due to the loyal years of cod following, and all other games should bow to the end user, right now I’m grateful we got servers, as the business model for PC gaming could go tits up, if Activission had their way, and it only takes a big boy to go this route, before the others may follow, they do it with WOW, I heard they want to apply the same sort of thing to future COD/MW games.

When you got DICE trying to keep to the old way of things I find it hard to slate them @ the moment.

am i the only one that doesn't get problems with steam? it runs 100% stable for me,never crashes, however it did with my old PC, probably because it wasnt the most powerful thing, now that ive got a decent system it runs solid, If you can't afford decent hardware, don't diss a program just because it doesnt run good on you're PC, even though i don't like MW2, Steam is the best thing to come to PC for gamers. Don't diss steam cause of blank ward.

you mean u don't CTD?.......whats your specs?........mine a i7920 gigabyte ud3rsli mobo...6gb ddr3 tri channel, gts250 sli lastest drivers etc....can churn out 200fps and everytime i go to look for a game......Bam CTD...its annoying the hell outta me.

nope never, i got an AMD Phenom II x2 Dual Core 550 Black Edtion 3.1ghz, 4gb ram and a 9800gtx+.. i was going to go an i7 till i realized how many problems most of the people on my friends lists are having with them. and you do realize the gts250 is a relaballed 9800gtx+ however it uses less power, 9800gtx+ is slightly faster though. disable sli and you will notice alot of the problems disappearing hardly anything supports sli yet.

I consider my PC to be decent. The Steam version of BFBC2 crashes quite a bit for me. I don't know if Steam has anything to do with it, though.

For some reason my 4th CPU core is always at 100% while playing BFBC2. It never heats up over 65 degrees because I have a decent cooler on it, but it doesn't seem like a CPU core running full out 100% all of the time can be good for the life of the CPU and it might be what is causing my CTDs.
