How do you view Activision's release of Zampella and West?

While I don't like seeing people fired, especially for no reason, they did blank over the PC platform (whether it was them directly or not, I'm not sure), so I'm glad they're gone in that respect.

But I can't help but worry about who's replaced them, what happens if they're even worse?

When I think of vince and west, all I remember is how much of a dick they were in the best buy chat AND the interview where they called PC gamers nerds.

Well, Karma is a bitch but with Activision it really will make no difference what-so-bloody-ever.

The future CoD franchise and setup will not be pc friendly and anyone who thinks otherwise needs to go play some MW2 and connect on their dialup modem.

Could not have come up with a more fitting end for those two if someone in hollyweird had written it. But having spent many years in large corporations, I know that no matter how bad the guy you just got rid of was, there is always a bigger turd just waiting to jump in the punchbowl. And knowing the idiocy that sometimes passes for decision making, the HMFWAIC usually picks the absolutely worst replacement possible. So dont look for any miracles coming soon to your local IW/Activision movie house soon.

I really think activision has made a big mistake. There was no reason to actually fire them. After all they are under a contract and could have simply waited it out and then refused to renew. Either way they still have to pay the 2 men for the work they have already completed there is no way they can get around that.

Am I sad to see them go? Not really. I think it is about time some clean up was done on the cod series if it is going to continue. There was already immense damage done to it over this last title. Though WaW is not a good game by my own personal standards it really isn't a bad game either. The quality of the work that went into it really does show. Yeah it has it's problems though they are fairly minor ones. I think the biggest problem I actually had with the game was simply the map layout. The maps were terrible simple as that. There were a couple audio bugs but I can understand that due to the fact that they really pushed the limits of what is possible and I think for an FPS game it was very experimental in how it would impact the game play. The idea behind the audio is genius however the effect it has on the game in multi-player was poor. Though should treyarch do a new cod game I am sure they could rework those areas and come up with something outstanding.

IW made a mockery of the series. How anyone could stand to play MW2 is beyond me. So to see the current situation gives us at least some hope that the series could go in a different direction and return to the style of play we previously enjoyed.

They should rehire the people that made cod2 and cod4 and make a version for the pc and for the consoles.
Needless to say the pc version should have dedi servers.

I have no sympathy for millionaires who are experts at looking after their own best interests while being all lawyered up.
The COD series is way past being repaired and just may be extended a bit in a respectable way if Treyarch is allowed to deliver the PC SUPPORT jd_2020 has floated.

Thank you Activision and IW for shaking me out of my slumber and helping me transition from being a COD gamer into an FPS gamer with a broader perspective and a bigger library of games to play and educate myself by.

And an honorable mention to Dice for making a game good enough....to ease the transition.

I look forward to spending my money on the best games available and no longer allowing any one title to lead me by the nose.
