That said, I bought Black Ops for the reasons that follow. You may or may not want to consider them.
(1) BO is releasing with 14 MP maps. I think that's reasonable.
(2) Call of Duty is a known quantity in terms of the overall feel of the game. I really want to be able to move around a map without getting stuck on everything the way I do with MoH.
(3) BO is guaranteed to have at least a five-figure player base. That means that even if one paid-DLC splits the community, I don't have to worry about it. The people that bought the Hot Zone DLC for MoH certainly will.
(4) I'm still somewhat hopeful that we'll get map and mod tools for BO.
There's still a lot to worry about with BO, but there's no doubt that it will be significantly better than MoH. Whether the "better" parts will be enough to justify the price tag remains to be seen.
I will probably buy it. I think if they would have left out the gimmicks like custom face paint or whateverthehellitis, I and many others would respect it more. It just seems like it's aimed at 12 year olds more than a guy like me that has been playing video games since Space Invaders and Asteroids sucked up my quarters. Make a quality product and you don't need stupid gimmicks or zombies for that matter. But, anyway, sorry, I'm off topic.
