lol, I think all pub games are like this after a while (CoD has it's bunny hopping, drop shooting quick scopers etc).

Everyone tries to play for themselves and get "easy" kills if possible. This is why I prefer co-op these days, people tend to play better when they are not competing against each other.

I think the most fun I ever had was Battlefield 2 and 2142. BF2 playing on a private server with huge maps, but only one flag.

BF2142 was awesome even in pubs because like BF2 it had a great Squad mechanic so you could always play with your friends.

I think BF play for free has a good shot at greatness as long as it keeps the squad mechanic as anything that keeps you with your friends in a match stays far more fun than you all being scattered.

Bc2 players have a bad attitude and playing style and also are less social.
Nothing in the chatbox except "do not baserape" while in other games theres more chat.
Bc2 kids are just like kill,kill, kill, rank up, kill, kill...

Bc2 is not about skill at all you just have to play many hours to get the good stuff.
The bullet reg is so random that its not so much about skill, how often did you get killed behind cover?
No prone is a joke too, apparently your head is looking out of the cover often but you cant see over the cover.

I like the new maps in the patch but the game still has flaws and new maps dont change that.

I quiet BFBC 2 before the patch and started playing strategy games one genre that current consoles will never taint. It was a nice break and showed me PC gaming is still alive just that PC FPS gaming has become console port gaming. Blsck ops is fun for me because I love the genre so much and have been missing it but its not a PC game or even a high quality port.

I just can't stand the bugginess that is black ops.

Every time they've patched it, it's run worse for me. Out of the box, I was kind of doing ok.

Now, i get steam can't connect, I only get a handful of servers in teh browser, etc.

I mean, really, is this what passes for quality in today's world? If these guys were selling anything besides software, some widget or whatever that could be returned, they'd be out on the street panhandling.

I mean, I'm paying for server at gameservers, and it only shows up in my browser list about once a week.

Don't mistake BC2 with "The Battlefield community" that's like saying MW2 was the "CoD community".

Battlefield 2 and 2142 were THE most team oriented public games I've ever played. The whole commander/Squad leader situation meant that even total strangers played as a team 90% of the time.

It has Jets and choppers as well as huge maps
It's got the weapons and classes of BC2 -> which is good because the ammo/medic mechanism is much better

Will hopefully have some squad mechanics in it

Closed beta is open now, with the open beta in Spring.

They are adding more and more people to the closed beta day by day. Check their Facebook page for keys being given away. Also playing Battlefield Heroes increases your chances

I find it quite saddening how much the overall quality and amount of effort put in the game has decreased since CoD2.
And CoD2 also was the last Activision title I bought.

Are you serious? Did you play COD2? We had to have a server blackout for them to put in a anti-cheat in the game.
