Re: First Strike DLC hmmmmm yer that would have been a smart thing to do not all details are known yet though maybe there is in this or soon in map pack 2

Re: First Strike DLC DLC should't ba payed for if it is a rip off (e.g. MW2) but if it is good then i think it warrants a price tag

Re: First Strike DLC Just like no one bought the MW2 DLC on the PC, right? Why wouldn't they pay for it - every one will have the maps. 100-200 guys will have the community maps.

The 2 are not mutually exclusive. DLC for ranked servers; custom maps for unranked servers. If you don't want to pay for DLC, then you have a choice to go play custom maps on unranked servers. However, in doing so, you have to sacrifice all the benefits of a ranked match. And as there is a price to pay for playing custom maps (i.e. going unranked), it is enough to keep people on ranked servers, and maybe, if they are suffering from mapathy badly enough, they will say to themselves "Oh, what the hell. Let's fork out a few dollars for some DLC and stay on a ranked server". |
