Are there any screenshots from the HLSW program showing the iwnet info you talked about?

I was just listening in,and at 22 minutes the steam conversation drops in,for the modding community, and this wasn’t mentioned there is a clear reason why iw has chosen to run on this platform, amd that is dlc.

World at War has made 70 million alone on downloadable content, map packs being the biggest earner for them with the average map pack costing $10. This is clearly a block move on the modding community for this reason, why would people pay on steam for maps when they could download new maps/mods from the community sites for nothing.

This is clearly a money motivated move by iw.

did you already know the max MP players of MW2? 16? how many? :|

don't you think even if they released a dedicated server together in the release date or some days after the release will not make ANY difference since it's a VIDEOGAME version instead of a real PC version?

sooo... will not handle much players, probably only 16... then will be only SMALL maps! something that will get bored fast without the custom maps since will not be available any modtools... :?

so all this are pointless until they say will release HUGE patches like MOHA did with a complete new game for PC, able to handle a lot more players and a real dedicated server... but the able to accept more players will need bigger maps, which we will need them to be released... then how much they can make for us? even if they make 10 which is a lot more than what will be, will never be enough...

don't you see the dead end that MW2 are? :o

I signed the pettition anyway on the first days, but I think is pointless unfortunately... with or without the ded server it's too late to change the entire structure of the game which is based on consoles right now. :(

To be honest i wouldn't have thought the maps are that small given the 16 gig needed for install.

Maybe the 2 map packs they have already announced are all ready on the disk, but need to be unlocked via online payment on steam.
Would be a reasonable explanation given the install size.

Great show Jock and the gang. Just like you guys mentioned, many sites and blog are also speculating that MW2 will have locked DLC to be unlocked after buying them. Would this be the driving force that lead IW to kill the modding community, so they can cash in DLC later on?

I saw Jock's youtube video post on a leaked PS3 version that showed a 3rd person view, so IW is charging $10 extra for a game that took at least 2 years to develop with less features then COD4 and they decide to take credit of PST*Joker's ideas that they "stole" from COD4's X4 mod? The AC130, trhowing knife and what's going to be next? maybe we will be seeing a female character? mmm...ironic, didn't Joker come out with a playable female character for COD2? There is NO ORIGINALITY in IW's MW2! Well, except for the matchmaking system IWnet. Trust no modder would have ever come up with such innovation multiplayer system, IW out did every other modder that ever existed with IWnet (sacarsticly speaking!)

IW turned, the PC community, into the typical stereo-typed "african-american" that gets unfairly treated in a racist way. So, IW has their favorite system, XBOX 360, and IW's/Activision 'suits" get a few extra zeros in their pay check and yet we don't get treated in a fair way? We, the PC who made IW who it is now a days? This is discrimination, fair treatment for ALL PLATAFORMS, and yes I mean the PS3 and the PC!

I almost cried, when I read DICE's official statement about dedicated servers on BC2, not because we are getting dedi servers but because they share our pain and when IW is pointing the gun to their own head, DICE came in with flying colors to rescue the PC community. Thank you DICE!

I will pay that extra $10 that IW is charging for a copy of COD4 X4 mod, to a developer that understands my community.

Hang in there PC camarades, there are people out there that care, and trust me on this one. After the storm there is always a calm!

P.S: "You are dedicated to your game, why won't your srvers be decicated too?" by DICE developer.
