Let's face it Jock. Since the start of Bash, not only has gaming changed but the gamers have changed, modding has become more common and accessible (probably in no small part due to Joker), so it is only natural for Bash to change.
Whilst perhaps IWNet brought about what seemed to be a huge change in the way we viewed pc gaming i.e. on the decrease, quite the opposite I think has been the case. The IW ragers (I hope) have not only flamed the already existing console/pc war but also perhaps opened some eyes to what they are actually getting and the reasons for pc gamers outcry over the lack of dedicated servers.
Bash will change. It is not called "CoDandSlash" but perhaps it started like this. Well CoD won't last forever so perhaps a more general approach is what is happening with the arrival of BFBC2, BF3 soon and of course MoH, CoD7 and possibly Sniper: Ghost Warrior + others - to a more "FPSandSlash" site.
On the note of modding becoming more accessible; BASHandSlash played or play a huge part in this. Until I found your site I had not come across a site where the results of modding games, access to mods and tweaks were more eloquently and understandably explained and displayed. Since then more sites have appeared, but I do believe Bash started something there.
I am not a modder and never will be. I do not have the patience nor the will to sink so deeply into the subject matter, but I do enjoy reading up on what others have achieved and take my hat off to them for doing so. Like so many others, I would like to have access to tweaks that improve my pc's performance and allow a given game to run smoother, give me a bit of an edge to what was released in the original package - without having to study IT etc. For that I thank you and those who have helped you on your way to getting BASH to where it is today.
Keep it up Jock.
