I've had more fun in BF play for free so far. Hopefully the beta allows me to tinker with the settings because right now the game feels like I'm playing with dual analog sticks and not a mouse. You're doing it wrong, then. The mouse controls aren't bad. If you need to tweak them, just hex the sensitivity to something more suitable. So far, myself and many others have zero problems with the mouse. The keybinds are fine once you get used to the go to crouch being where the toggle should be. I have my controller plugged in and have tried the analog sticks. The sensitivity on those are LOL high. In any case, 85% of the people playing this alpha are forgetting one key thing: this alpha meant for server stability tests only. Of course we should always report bugs in the gameplay, but seeing as this is an old Alpha build, I'm sure DICE has found and fixed many of the bugs and glitches that are being reported to no end on the Battlelog forums. I laugh at the people on the forums who say that the alpha lacks content and that this isn't the battlefield they remember. This is an alpha build. Why in the hell would it have a ton of content? The alpha is rush mode, with 32 players, one vehicle that works in only 2 sectors, and mainly infantry combat. Of course it's not the battlefield style that you remember, it's not supposed to be. Rush mode offers some of the most intense firefights that will be in the game which is why they chose it over conquest mode. Most of the bugs will show their face when players are fighting closer together and doing things that don't happen a lot in regular conquest mode. So they need to calm the blank down and wait for the beta. I'm sure that will have conquest mode. The keybindings are so terrible, but I guess that is a matter of preference. I've died a million times struggling with the keys, pressing grenade instead of defib was super common, or stood up from prone when i wanted to just crouch, ect. I'm 99% certain beta will be another terrible rush map (if not the same one) just like BC2. Rush mode is just Call of Battlefield (that feels more like MOH 2010 then battlefield), after spending about 15hrs in alpha, its is NOT BF2.5 as most had hoped it would be (fingers crossed that is just Rush mode, hopefully Conquest will turn my opinion around). OHH yeah and 3D targeting has to go in the worst way. Yea, I agree Rush just doesn't feel like the older battlefields. Conquest or nothing. I also noticed that spamming q is pretty op you can get tons of kills just from painting all the bushes despite not being able to actually see an enemy.

Neil wrote: Have you posted this on the Alpha forums? Would be handy if you did especially in regards to the re-appearing trees. not yet, barely had time to post on here. These were graphical bugs, which weren't really what the alpha was looking for (they're testing servers, not gameplay or graphics, which is why features are missing or turned off/down and whatnot), but I'll post them on there too tonight. I tried to get on the site this morning, but either my work blocks the IP (without their usual "page blocked: reason: occult" lol they make up crazy reasons) or the site is down.

Alpha has ended and the site is no longer up.

Ya a lot of people forget that, or they don't care and just looking to troll. I had a lot of fun playing this alpha. I am really looking forward to this release. The hitbox and avatar movement is what I was really interested in and IT WAS TOP NOTCH. All of my guys, who are COD players, said it reminded them of COD. This game is going to be huge!

 Re: Alpha Trial Info Questions?
Hopefully somebody from the Crosshairs crew had access to the alpha and can give their input on the next show. If not, we'll have to compile our own fact finding data and select a representative to present it on the show.

I just feel they have gotten hitbox/hitreg and avatar movement spot on now.

Mmm To be honest it felt and played like Call of Duty with bigger maps..Maybe that's the plan? As I can see it will be popular with a great many players who like COD.. Accordingly I was a bit disappointed as very little teamwork was evident in any server i visited. People just playing for Me, myself and I. But BF2 introduced fps gamers to rankings so I suppose I should not have been that surprised.. Graphically I was also left disappointed as this game is being touted as truely cutting edge..Crysis 2 has nothing fear from BF3 though..

I wouldn't worry too much, I think a lot of settings were turned off, textures were low res, etc. as this was just a server-test really. I think we'll have a much better idea of what things will look like when the beta rolls out. I noticed some textures were fantastic (ceiling tiles in the subway for some reason looked amazing lol), but most looked pretty low res and AA looked to be fairly medium/low even on the "high" setting. I'm afraid I won't see that much better graphics than what I saw because I'm not sure my comp can handle too much more, unless many optimizations are made. Anyway, I don't think those graphics were anywhere near final and I think we should wait before passing final judgement on them.

I think Zhinto tweeted that or posted that somewhere. @Butch.. I just got a invite yesterday to the clan beta of RO2. Looking forward to trying that out.
