=\
very sad news, although I don't think anybody expected anything else. However he could have said it more tactfully.

They don't give us free dedicated server files, LAN support and now also no MOD-Tools? What makes this game worth playing for us communities and clans?

Making the game sound more and more like a bad port even though it is supposed to be made for the PC first.

as good as this game looks, I don't see myself playing this for more then 3 months (and that's being generous)

It's no surprise, really. It's not like they said they'd ever release them. They always implied that they wouldn't. They probably don't want to put in the effort to create a workable set of tools for the community. From information we've gathered so far about the engine, it's pretty damn complex and I don't blame them for not wanting to take the time to cut it down to something that a select few in the community will be able to grasp.

Re: “we are not going to make any modding tools”
who the hell is this guy? lol I've never heard of him. (edit: oh yeah, he's an EA VP...he has no idea what's going on...but as I point out below, of course he, as part of EA, does not want DICE to put out their engine for free, so he'll say no until someone at DICE can find a way to put out tools taht are somehow protected)
I think more recently than this KM said they were looking into it. he said it was "difficult" and all that, but he did not say "no"...just that they weren't sure. There are obviously people at DICE that want them and will push for it. I think it will be a matter of whether or not someone there will be able to come up with a way they can put out mod tools without putting out their server code or giving away their engine for free, which I am fairly certain EA will not let them do. I think if they could solve those issues, they would be much more willing to put them out.

Yep. And if they did and most couldn't grasp this engine, then they would here how the mod tools don't work or crappy support and so on. It's a no win for EA. The majority of us BF guys could care less about tools.

I fail to see why people are swallowing their rubbish excuse of its to complicated, Crysis 1 and Farcry 1, 2 had mapping a mod tools and they were using the top level of tech at the time also. How do people know it is so complicated i have seen no proof of that anywhere just a pawn at DICE telling me lies so he can let EA sell me bits of the game they chopped off pre release.
