Well it doesn't work for me, it just doesn't start.

I am ATI user and heard that there is issues and I hear I have to download DirectX runtime.. great

This application has failed to start because d3dx9_43.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may hix this problem

Did you try installing the latest ati drivers? What are you running it on - 7 or XP? I've heard of problems with Win7 too.

Guess 2 years development time just isn't enough when you're starting with a game engine that's only 90%+ complete.

I really wasnt expecting this from treyarch, I mean, come on ... they had a whole PC team, if you cant even play the game are a good rate, who cares what content the game presents

and lets be realistic, the game dont look good as a PC game graphics wise, at least thats what people are saying ...

I'm so glad I didn't get burned again like I did on mw2 launch.

These kinds of problems, are in a word, inexucsable.

i-n-e-x-c-u-s-a-b-l-e

They had stuff that WASN'T BROKE in cod4.

And every step they've done since then, has been to seemingly eff up the stuff that they had working good in cod4.

It's like they are too dumb to realize what works, and what doesn't. I'm glad I didn't buy into the hype of jd and whoever at trey doing this interview and that interview about how this was so great.

These kinds of mistakes are beyond retarded. We aren't talking about game balance issues with gun x, or weapon y or perk z being overpowered or abused.

We are talking about just being able to PLAY the game.

And these guys, treyarch, these big pc lovin' guys who are gonna show us IW masterpiece cluster-ef was an aberration, can't even get the game off the ground.

And this is, like someone said above, with a 2 year headstart on a game engine, that was 90% done. Just exactly what are these clowns doing with all their time and money when they are supposed to be developing the game? Oh, and steam can't handle the traffic? Why is that? Did someone maybe think that might be a problem when they dreamed up this little circle-jerk? Did someone from steam just show up at trey's office and say, "hey, it won't be a problem" and trey go "GREAT, let's do it!!" ??? I know, this isn't IW, but that reeks of the same type of ignorance that was apparent in the decision in mw2 to allow vac to be your anti-cheat, while taking server admins out of the equation, giving you effectively no way to deal with cheaters.

I know this is kind of harsh, and I don't mean to gloat, but it's like yogi said. It's deja vu all over again. I'm just glad I'm not stuck with a 60 dollar shining frisbee at this point like I was last year at this time.

After sorting out DirectX yesterday it did work and then installing an updated driver for my ATI snail graphics card. Today Steam is installing DirectX drivers, I guess they forced that.

New operating systems no longer come with DirectX9, that's why you have to install it.

We are stuck with it until the consoles are replaced with newer hardware.
