See title. professional 32 gave me an fps boost of ~50 compared to vista ultimate 64.

Would 64 bit be even better?

no. tried it.

heres what ya do

grab your xp disc and use nlite (free program) to manually edit the install. by doing this you set what you want to be installed. unecessary items, services, and processes will not be installed.

this is highly advanced and if you check the wrong things to be not installed you will f up the installation or services to where certain things will not run.

there is a tutorial around somewhere. you want the basics. lan, audio, usb, etc support and what not.

without any drivers my xp ran on 61megs of ram. with all drivers it ran with 400megs usage (closer to 390)

while playing im at 1.17megs and 29% max cpu usage. now that's efficient.

holy blank lol.

u need to get educated son! ther is alot a person can do. if i remember correctly u dl that xp from a certain p2p site or what not.

sometimes ppl take the time to tweak the windows b4 hand and then upload it. often times with a virus in a corporate edition of an OS -corporate for the reason of the file sharing capabilities of the programed OS.

but this can be done before the install. after you tweak what you want your re mount that tweaked image to a new disc. and you too can have an optimized windows. again good nlite tutorial.

take the files from the disc. put into new folder. run nlite. follow the tutorial as in my mind u will need to it is quite a long process and then save!-do NOT burn with that progam. i had boot problems when i used it. so i took that saved image and burned it will MagicIso-my favorite burning software

Wow, do any of you even know the difference between x86 and x64 architectures? If you have 4GB of RAM or more, you use x64, if not, stick with x86.

of course why do u think i used x64 when i first tried xp with my 4gigs. NO difference. if there is any difference between the 2 its the compatibility and support for more x32 programs and drivers. (im using tweak force drivers)

WHEN you only use 1.17gigs of ram when the game is running whats the need for a different architecture? i dont even come close to full use of my ram or my cpu. 29%
