 CoD4 Demo Player with audio?
I thought I would ask everyone on here with some programming ability if they would be able to do something like this:
Could a CoD4 demo-player be made so that it not only plays CoD4 Demo files - but - it also launches an audio player?
For example, if you wanted to add play-by-play commentary to pre-recorded demos you now have to record in Fraps - but Fraps creates huge files and image quality is bad.
I've asked Pat at Cybopat who has one of the best demo player interfaces out there and he was not able to help...so I thought some of you folks could think about how to do this.
...it ain't exactly CoDTV, but it would be a really cool thing to have.
Any idea is welcome.

Re: CoD4 Demo Player with audio?
you want to use
/cl_avidemo 30 to record. for audio, just record in fraps. although, make sure you are in ventrilo at the same time. there was a post about this on the CAL forums.
should be fine like that. there are no other programs to do it. bes to do is NOT to record fraps..
google virtual dub
thats a good program for conversion. DONT record with other programs. record in game. I use seismovision for entering game and slow down and stuff, but i still record using the command above

After I have my frames I just use Sony Vegas to complie, you can add audio overlays at will. Is it a demo-player your after or to make movies with audio overlays?

Re: CoD4 Demo Player with audio?
I don't have fraps, and frankly i wanted to stay away from it.
@Flash, what i was hoping to do was to voice-over an already recorded demo file.
I'll look into both ur suggestions, but at the end of the day - i don't want an avi or mpeg file...just an audio file and the demo file, which would be synchronized thru the player.

Re: CoD4 Demo Player with audio?
I used to use this in quake for item timing but you could use it to do a simillar thing to what your after. When playing as coach I would item time the mega, armour and quad over teamspeak for the rest of the clan - worked like a charm...
External program is soundbroad maker: Allows you to run an audio file from a bound key press.
You could play your demo and simply hit a key to start your pre-recorded overlay. Not exactly the thing you are after but it works.
