They are going to need a ton of polish if you ask me. Fair to good but that doesn't get it for 60$. Cancelled my pre-order. Yes, I have said some good things about it but that bad out weighs the good.
Yeah, if you read my post in the other thread, i agree that they have several things that need work. I think all of them are do-able, and I think if they can fix them up this could be huge. It feels like the next step from COD4, everything else being tangents lol. If there was run-strife, prone, lean, and some graphics/audio polishing it would be that game. Right now? no. I really like the hit-reg (minus the lack of bullet penetration through some already exploded boxes and a couple other issues) and shooting people just feels good in general. Basically, if they polish the graphics and audio i'd still buy it. I'm used to playing BC2 now so the lean, prone and run-strafe i don't "need" (yes i would love to have them but what can you do?).
I think the biggest thing this game is lacking is the destruction. all the textures that look kinda fudgy can be fixed at any time, but it'd be much harder to patch-in or update for final the destruction. this is the game they plan on running with, minus a list of
bugs and suggested fix feedback on the forums, so adding in that destruction would be the biggest change for them IMO. They obviously have the capability, they just seem to think it's more realistic without it. I would agree that a lesser degree of destruction would be more realistic, buildings should nto come down and entire walls should not be removed in this game, but blowing walk-through-hole (or at the very least a shoot-through-hole) in a wall with an RPG or tube?-YES. that would be absolutely fantastic in this game. right now it's like an amped MW game where all the little boxes and things on the ground can be shot up, but even then, i feel like there should be pieces remaining somewhere, not just things dissapearing.
BUT IN THE END: that's just a graphical thing for the most part (cept for actually going through the holes in the walls), the gameplay is still pretty damn good. at least I believe it probably will be in the final build.
I don't think the final verdict is anywhere near a reality at this point. I want to see if they patch the beta at all and what announcements they'll make about changes for the final build before i cancel anything. I think it will be a fun game to play. Even if it doesn't become this mythical game we've been searching for since cod4, it could still be very fun and give me hours and hours of good times =)
