 Is MoH Destined to fail?
Well I've just been in 3 of my local computer shops (Swindon, UK) and amongst all the Pre-Order Halo-Reach and COD:BO I didn't find one MOH pre-order box or poster.
Now I can't believe EA wouldn't hype this to crazy levels/threaten stores to get prime marketing spot (especially when it's released a full month before BO).
So Speculation starts, with my guesses being:
1) EA don't think its going to be a success and have given up already 2) It's going to get bad reviews so no-one is pre-ordering 3) All pre-orders are online thanks to the BF3 promo, so no-one wants it from a bricks and mortar store 4) It's going to be delayed until after Christmas

 Re: Destined to fail?
Rumors exist that this game has a very high pre-order cancellation rate across all Gamestop stores. The beta showed that MoH is not up to par with most games of its kind, it's another average, highly derivative game.
DICE has lost its magic touch, it seems.

No news always increases negative speculation. I think that's what we have now. Just have to wait and see.

 Re: Destined to fail?
It was the complete lack of boxed pre-orders for MOH on shelves
For a tier 1 game, it should be in the stores, but in mine, you wouldn't even know it was coming out

Wow, it's worse than I thought! Fix the weapons, all will be better.

 Re: Destined to fail?
to be honest , after seeing the latest trailer with tanks rolling across an airfield and from the hip 200 meter pistol kills im not really excited about it anymore, looks and sounds exactly like BFBC2,
also , if you owned a gaming shop would you gamble with advertising space for a maybe hit MOH against a sure fire blockbuster like CODBO, no neither do they,

 Re: Destined to fail?
Yeah,
I've got a feeling that Dice were brought in at the last minute to make a multiplayer. They canabalised BC2 (which is why there are so few maps).
So it should be solid, if not too eventful.
A few things do point to it not being too good:
1) Not much of the single player is being talked about. 2) They keep touting Dice creating the MP rather than just talking about the MP 3) Stores aren't promoting too heavily and as it's EA you'd think they could lean on them 4) They are using "BF3 Beta" to get you to BUY the game before launch (rather than pre-order) via steam etc 5) They even think they need the BF3 beta to get people to buy the game (because you really shouldn't need this to sell your game - imaging World at War pre-order saying "buy now to get the MW2 beta" -> ignoring hindsight of course)
I'm thinking I'll be playing global agenda for another few months at least. They might surprise us, but it's looking doubtful

There is Local Computer Shops? Pre-order killed the small shops against the giants and internet
I liked what I have seen so far with MoH but I am a big fan of BC2 and CoD series. So I am happy either way.

 Re: Destined to fail?
I've been checking out the SP side of it and I like what I see there. I may just get the game for this reason and sod the MP side of it. I am sure it will be available via plenty of torrents, but I don't out of principle buy anything that's hacked or cracked so I will pay AmazonUK's price once the price drops a bit.

So I am happy either way. Did you play the beta? If so, did you like it? I'm looking for any reason to buy this game when it comes out. I canceled my preorder, but I really want to like this title. Medal of Honor is a classic series. Allied Assault, Spearhead, and Breakthrough all had awesome single player games with great missions. If they would make the multiplayer weapons more like BC2, they would sell this thing like crazy, even though it would get skewered for being a BC2 copy. Nevertheless, people would buy it like mad. Everybody I know hated the weapons and the way they just fired flat and became boring.
