Re: Treyarch acknowledges PC problems, patches made already
No changes here - first off the game starts at 30-40 and after 10-15 seconds the FPS drop to 10 and then to 5, that remains the same even if I'm not moving at all and I'm staring in a wall, the FPS do not go above 10. I realize my CPU is under the min req, but there is something else going on - otherwise it would have started with 10FPS and stayed the same throughout. I am sure they knew about this but didn't have time to polish the port but they should have been ready with a day1 patch.

There IS something else going on. You are quite right. Even those of us who meet the requirements just, slightly over or exceed them are having problems. This is not about you have a stone age computer. Chill. I'm installing some more RAM . Only have 2GB and blops appear to be using both of them at max. Nothing left, even for making a cuppa tea.

Re: Treyarch acknowledges PC problems, patches made already
I too have only 2GB of RAM but it doesn't seem to be using more than 600-700MB, maybe a gig if I'm in-game. Just goes to say how bad they screwed this up :d
c:\>port.exe -codbo360.v1 D:\CodBOPC\ porting...
Done.
c:\>exit
(double click on BO icon)
Game starts.
Treyarch employee: Woohoo, it runs! (ctrl alt dels, kills the process) It's ready folks, we ship the game tomorrow!

Well, reports on both Steam and CoD forums say the game has become lag-free in MP for a very minor number of people. The vast majority seems to feel some improvements but the lag is still present.

I felt a huuuge improvement when I followed the list as mentioned by Jock on the front page. Also running in windows mode helped some but after implementing this list I can run full screen mode. Still stuttering like a biatch and dark maps do not agree with me...also enemies have a tendency of bringing on the stutter. Damned hard to spot potential hackers with this going on so I am not even bothering to look. If I die I die.

From my experience in fps gamers what makes fps game great is trying to reduce deaths that aren't your fault...so in mw2 those deaths were noobtubes, maybe cod4 brought same rage with enormous zeus granades... but mostly nothing really big, but when i stop shooting in the middle of gunfight just because my screen freezes and becomes irresponsible for 1second every 30 seconds... its not competition between players, its basically rolling the dice... thats why i come back to black ops for few games, but eventually if i am seeing that at this point in the game it just brings me frustration not joy of gaming, i just press ` /quit. Its that easy.

Re: Treyarch acknowledges PC problems, patches made already
yes,i haven't touched this game for 2 weeks....I'm not going to be their succession statistic while i play in anger and rage that my character freezes up when i get shot or even randomly walking...if i go to server and ask does anyone still having lag issues? 5/18 players will say yes, but they just playing for the hell of it.

Re: Treyarch acknowledges PC problems, patches made already
idk what they are doing wrong.. .the closed beta ran perfectly smooth and everything... i suggested to pcdev they try using some coding from the beta and fix whats needs to be fixed from there to see how it works... its sad the beta runs better than the final product
