That Iron Europe mod has me chomping at the bit. I always wished for a high quality WWI game. Hope this is it.

Ohhhh, but it was very action packed. Not all battles in WWI took place in the trenches. There were many, many epic and unbelievable battles fought all over the world. It was just as action packed as any war has been since. Oh yes, it would make for a great shooter. It wasn't as primitive as people think it was. Rifles, artillery, tanks, machine guns, grenades, hand to hand, all the stuff to make it fun.

Well, Darkest of Days used some of the more unconventional time periods for it's SP campaign. American Civil War and WWI. Turned out to be pretty damn fun to walk in a line and get shot at and not being able to flee.

"Fun" to walk in a line and get shot at and not being able to flee? Hm, makes MW3 sound like fun in comparison. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A5tRNs2X5Q4 "Objective updated: Continue to await orders".

Hey, the early phases of WWI were pretty much open terrain fighting without trenches, the stalemate only came afterward. And I think that if done well a WWI mod could be tremendous fun.

Re: Iron Europe and Rising Storm section?¿
WWI was fought in many places besides Europe. As Kucd said, the trench stalemate came later. Also, on the American Civil War, it wasn't all line fighting either. Plenty of guerrilla tactics were employed in that war also. Tons of bayonet charges, Gatling guns, and cannon fire. Plus, naval battles and even a little submarine action. By the way, one of the original "bush wookies" from the US was this guy. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lewis_WetzelNicknamed "Deathwind" by the Indians, because he pwnt them with the sniper weapon of that time. And this was in the 1700's. Definitely not "gentlemanly line firing". More Black Ops than anything.
