I just ordered myself a PS2 controller converter for the PC, so I could be playing Guitar Hero III with the game my friend lent me. Then I was thinking - what about Call of Duty? I know, if you want to use a controller you should probably use it for a console, but has anyone tried it? I'm guessing you would most likely need a few minor config changes.

Aside from the few changes you would need to make I'm guessing you would get completely destroyed. Especially with all the fast paced game play where you need to be able to spin around and shoot in an instant.

I’ll definitely be giving this a try, but to make things fair, anyone with a controller up for a little 1v1 in a few days?

I have one. The 1v1 sounds like it could be cool, but it in a real game you would get destroyed.

Ok so. I got the controller finally and set it up last night. Worked pretty well and have it laid-out almost the exact same to the PS3 one.

I found out that:
-My average kill to death ratio was a little bit below 1-1.
-I usually scored about 1/4 less points then the top player on FFA.
-The gameplay is much too fast for a controller. (You need low sensitivity to aim - but can't turn around quick to get someone)
-Keyboard + Mouse > Controller

this is exactly why PC > Console... because of the KB + Mouse (for gaming)

I have had friends argue that "controllers take more skill because you cant jump in the air and do two 360s, you have to anticipate more"

I don't even bother arguing about it anymore... its useless

With microsuc trying very hard to get both console and PC together to game development, it won't be long before you can play against (can't bring myself to say "with") consoles..oh joy I can't wait and the battle of words will end soon enough
