 Announcement Delays
I play a lot of CTF and with COD:Black Ops and even back in COD:WAW they both have a horrible announcement delays for when flags are taken, returned, dropped, etc. at times and it can really cause confusion on what the heck is really going on and where the flags are at. While playing last night someone commented they were running the Yitch config and by using that it eliminated the announcement delay.
Can this really be changed on the config side? I had a look at the Yitch config but didn't see anything that related to the announcement delay that I could tell but I am not a big config tweaker.

 Re: Announcement Delays
I have the voice off in all game modes it improves your concentration immensly , i suppose in capture the flag its more vital so its a pity they havent got that right considering its a competitive mode.

 Re: Announcement Delays
Figures; something else locked down that makes no sense.
I could see where turning off some of the voice announcements because I don't really care to hear about all the Killstreaks coming in but I definitely want to hear about flags and such.

 Re: Announcement Delays
ok this might be of some interest. i could be very well wrong and dont want to be quoted or simply told im wrong because im unsure however,
phys_impact_max_sfx_per_frame
i tweaked this setting to 1 along with other settings. for the longest time i couldnt figure out why the announcer was so delayed. i play dom nuke [leveling purposes] and id hear "losing b" way way after b was already taken. id hear kill streaks way way after i had them. anyway. i went through my config and the dvar lists. re-evaluted my settings. i turned it up (stock setting is 10.mine is 5). it is not as bad as it used to be.
however the definition is either misleading or its a placebo. lower # =less sfx (sound) per frame.
check it out. i do not plan on doing anymore with the phys commands. its so hard to know if they actually work or not. i could be wrong but whatever i tweaked in my re-evaluation lessed the delay of announcement some*.

 Re: Announcement Delays
I will give it a try tonight. I notice it in DOM every now and then but I notice it a lot more in CTF. CTF is what I play 90% of the time besides a little DOM & DEM here and there so a resolution would be nice.
Thanks for the research.
