Try finding BBC's World At War. Made in the 70s, it still stands out as the best WWII documentary ever made.

The special 2 episodes on the Holocaust was... well, you need a strong mind to get through it, that's for sure.

I have a very hard time watching such things, i instantly flash back to a faithfull day when i was in my early teens, and i was spending the weekend with my Granparents.

I knew my Granfather as a jolly old fat guy who allways wore a long sleeved shirt regardless of the temperature, and who allways had exciting tales to tell about his time as a Policeman. And i allways loved hearing them. But on that day, as i pestered him to tell me another tale from his youth, he looked at me with a sad look on his face, and said "I think you are old enough now.. and it is time that i told you a different story. This one is about the time i spend in Auschwitz and Buchenwald", and he rolled up his sleeve to show me the KZ-number tattood on his forarm.

I can't even begin to describe how this realization, and how the things he told me about thouse places knocked the wind out of me. Just thinking about it sends shivers down my spine to this day.
And it came completely out of the left field, because my family is not Jewish, and at that time, i had no idea POW's and political prisoners where also held in thouse camps, or that my family could even have history tied to them.

It is disgusting what the NAZI's did, people should never stop teaching children about it so it hopefully prevents it in the future
