Re: EA suspends game account over forum post critical of EA?
Well, let's hold on a minute before we completely condemn this guy. I realize his statement about Bioware selling themselves to the "devil" is quite insolent, but we don't know that the rest of his post is "douche" worthy. Does anybody have a direct quote of the entire post he made? I would very much like to see the manner and context in which he presented his statement.

Re: EA suspends game account over forum post critical of EA?
Quote: Wow, well here’s a crazy update. After being repeatedly told that he was intentionally locked out of his EA games because he broke the rules on the BioWare forum, and that this was in accordance to the Terms Of Service that he’d agreed to, this morning’s internet famous man, Arno, has just been told that it was in fact a mistake.
He received an email from EA’s Senior Director of Customer Support, Boyd Beasley, explaining that his “inappropriate language” meant he had received a 72 hour ban from the BioWare Social Network, but that,
“Unfortunately, there was an error in the system that accidentally suspended your entire EA account. Immediately upon learning of the glitch, we have restored the entire account and apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused while accessing other areas of the EA service.”
So there you go then. A strange one indeed, after he was told by both EA’s live support, and the moderator who locked the thread discussing the matter (who declined to speak to us), the opposite. But good news for Arno, who can finally play the game he’s paid for. It was a error on EA's side. Case closed. @DJNOOB... I think that is where the differences lie in this debate. We as server admins, don't mind someone that is a tool on their forums getting banned from the same game. Others want their rights to act like idiots, without repercussions.

New case opened. Well this is interesting: http://www.capsulecomputers.com.au/2011 ... ed-handed/What happens when Bioware employees are tools on renowned websites?

Re: EA suspends game account over forum post critical of EA?
DA2 has made 3 major errors:
-The forum ban = game ban -The DRM debacle, and Reclaim Your Game is actually sticking to their guns and reaffirming what they said, so there was no mistake in the DRM, this was a deliberate decision that may cost EA dearly in court. -Bioware writing reviews for its own game and then EA comes out and defends their actions. Conflict of interest? Never heard of that.
The most amazing part is that there are people defending them still even though it's obvious they messed up pretty badly.

http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/03 ... game-bans/Apparently this forum ban = game ban has happened many times before and has happened again after the original article has been posted. EA is "on it".

Let's try and remember this is a BF3 NEWS SECTION. Post your personal agenda stuff somewhere else.

While that is true, this thread does not really belong in this section either. There's no point in making a new thread when there is ongoing discussion of the situation. Maybe a mod could move this up one level to BF3 discussion, instead?
