Post A Few Tweaks to Pick at
Finally had a chance to glance at the config. I don't spend much time on this stuff any more. So I was just running through the default config, came across the system settings section and figured I'd see what would happen if I changed some values to false. Here's my view using normal settings:
(made the images clickable incase you can't see the whole image)

Then I randomly set the following to false:
StaticDecals=False
DynamicDecals=False
UnbatchedDecals=False
DynamicLights=False
DynamicShadows=False
LightEnvironmentShadows=False
DirectionalLightmaps=False
MotionBlur=False
DepthOfField=False
AmbientOcclusion=False
Bloom=False
Distortion=False
DropParticleDistortion=False
OnlyStreamInTextures=False
LensFlares=False
FogVolumes=False
FloatingPointRenderTargets=False
OneFrameThreadLag=False
UseVsync=False
UpscaleScreenPercentage=False
AllowD3D10=False
HighQualityGamma=False
PostProcessing=True
AllowRadialBlur=False
bEnableForegroundShadowsOnWorld=False
bEnableForegroundSelfShadowing=False

So now I get this looking out of the same window:

Some of the settings are self explanatory and others I'm not sure what they are or if they even did anything. I imagine that several people have already noticed this and a lot more. I found this in 5 minutes so think about what else is in there to manipulate. Maybe a few of you with more time/interest can run through each of those commands and explain what each does to help us better understand. I don't have the time to go through each setting one by one.

A few things need to be fixed but the game just came out so we'll give them some time. Cool game so far.

Those are only the basics when it comes to tweaking the Unreal3 Engine. You can make this game look like LegoLand if you know what you are doing.

Seeing that SS makes me go cold inside. Will VAC even notice somebody running a game that stripped down? Now I'll be in a constant state of suspicion when I'm getting badly owned in Homefront.

I'm sure that's something that Combat Testing must have picked up in the Alpha/Closed Beta. It's sad to see it's still so easy to make those changes.
