 Questions for zh1nt0
I am posting this here because I know he does occasionally read these forums and because even if he doesn't, hopefully Jock will point it out to him. So, here goes.
Some questions for you zh1nt0.
1. Why (if you are being held up as the model of perfection for community managers) are there posts on the official EA PC forum for BFBC2 complaining that nobody from DICE has responded to the community for ages and there is no news on any of the issues still oustanding since the last patch?
2. It would be nice if DICE (or some of the DICE people at any rate) acknowledged the issues raised by the community with regard to game balance. One of the biggest issues that BC2 has faced has been the large number of snipers in the game and how they affect the game. The number of "restricted sniper" or "no sniper" servers around should demonstrate that there is an issue, even if you . At least acknowledge this even if you don't agree with it.
3. Are any of the issues from BC2 (such as the snipers) or from BF2 (such as the lack of infantry anti-air capability) being addressed in BF3? Can you say anything about how much influence (if any) the community from previous BF games has had on decisions made in designing BF3?
(For example, the idea of how Homefront has dealt with killstreaks (slight buffs for the person with the streak which is counter-balanced by the increased identification of them to enemies as a threat) seems like a well thought out attempt at coming up with a solution to some of the traditional complaints players have about FPS games. Have similar discussions and decisions been made at DICE or are you just going your own way whatever happens?)

and let us rank up in custom servers, for gods sake. please don't do like black ops, where they take the holy ranking system so f**king seriously that there's no-one playing in the unranked servers...

 Re: Questions for zh1nt0
@crizp But if they would release the server files public, to allow you to rank up on unranked servers, then you will have rank up servers (codwaw). Which completely destroys the integrity of the ranking system. I prefer for them to leave it like it is on that one.
As for Quercus post, I think the snipers are fine. And yes the community does have a lot of input on how the BF games are made. Did you play BF2? Do you remember how many patches there were for weapons balance? It was crazy. My weapon of choice changed with every patch. There is a case of listening to much to the players.

Too bad they couldn't sneak us in a map or 2 for Vietnam or regular BC2, just to keep it going for a bit longer. I can wish. I noticed more people playing this game since the BF3 thing at E3. My servers are populated much more. But, I speak into the wind here.
