Post Class structure revealed
The equipment for each class was briefly described in the latest blog post on the Battlefield Blog by zh1nt0:

The Assault Class will be carrying a medic kit and will also be able to revive fallen teammates on the Battlefield with a defib kit.

The Support class can throw out ammunition as well as using an LMG to fight his way through hordes of enemies. The LMG is equipped with a bi-pod that you can fold out when you prone to give you that extra accuracy. Also, if you lay down some of that heavy suppressive fire on an enemy, you could also score some extra points as you’ll blur the enemies vision.

The engineer class is equipped with a submachine-gun with a flashlight that can actually be used to blind people thanks to the great tech provided by the Frostbite 2 engine. This is especially useful in the Operation Metro map due to the narrow spaces and darker areas of the map. The class also comes with a welding tool to repair friendly vehicles as well as an RPG to destroy enemy vehicles.

The Recon class has a semi-automatic sniper rifle and is also equipped with some powerful C4. Those C4 explosions can cause destruction – a Battlefield favorite – anytime, anywhere.

YES! We're going back to the BF2142 class structure. At first I was skeptical about only have 4 classes, but this class arrangement worked great in Battlefield 2142.

They also revealed a much improved "brink" like mantling system
You can slide now
prone is back
bipods are back and can be used while prone
Health regeneration that only works outside of firefights and suppression
Vehicles don't blow up immediately anymore allowing for passengers to bailout before it blows
Vehicles self heal to a certain extent outside of combat but engineers are still required to get a vehicle to 100%
Squad leaders are back and the ability to spawn in on them
64 player multilayer
Jets will only be available in conquest
game modes are conquest, rush and TDM

Not Keen on that idea tbh. There are certain vehicles that blow up in BF2, 2142, BC2 etc killing all inside but for people to get out before a tank that is at 5% health, for example, is stupid imo.

Ya I am not sure about this either Neil. I am going to wait to play it before I say I like it or not.

but that way people won't just leave vehicles with low hp, so they can be used for all they're good for and then respawn faster. perhaps some weapons, like an at-mine exploding under the tank could destroy it instantly, while taking a projectile to the front will stop the vehicle from working for some seconds before it blows up?

I don't know if tanks fall under this change. From what it sounded like they wanted to make hummers and other transports less of a death trap when using them to get to the battle.

This is pretty much what I think. In BC2, all light vehicles are rather frail and only take one rocket to destroy them. It defeats the purpose of transporting troops if you'll die as soon as an engineer fires a rocket at you.

What I'm currently wondering is how they let the occupants know when the vehicle has no HP left and is going to explode. They say you can disable vehicles (temporarily if an engineer fixes it up). Does that mean we'll see a more advanced version of the procedural destruction of vehicles that we saw in BC2? e.g. blow the wheel off a Humvee and have it lose mobility?

ok thanks for the information on the kit layouts... so medic based soldier is pretty much sorts the medic-soldier in bc2 out. Not sure if every soldier I know how to heal a player... so i guess they are also deploying the medic packs?

I now want to know what abilities the squad leader has, can he call in artilery? can he scan? can he UAV launch? can he demand his squad to take out a point? the commander role imo was important.

So hoping this game is not BC3

In regards to BC2:

Light transports such as jeeps and quads have the advantage over more heavier vehicles such as being a lot quicker. That's their advantage. Their disadvantage is that they can be blown up with one rocket. To me that's how it should be. Now you are taking away that disadvantage and giving them another advantage.

Now air transport. Air transport vehicles can take one rocket shot plus extra damage perk and be destroyed but do allow people to eject in time. This is because they have more armour (advantage) and are also slower (disadvantage). The attack chopper on the other hand has less armour (disadvantage) but is a lot faster at manoeuvring (advantage). You can take out an attack chopper with one rocket plus extra damage perk and kill everyone on board.

Sorry but I dont agree with the change.

I second that.
