 Core rot
Not sure if you guys have seen this. I'm not so sure I like being called "rot"...whether I'm core rot or surface rot...it's still rot. Either way, Riccitiello needs to shut the hell up. http://www.industrygamers.com/news/ea-ceo-wants-call-of-duty-to-rot-from-the-core/

 Re: Core rot
I wish EA's marketing and bosses would just figure out that BF is not even the same sub genre of FPS as COD so comparing the two is pointless might as well compare BF to Halo or GOW. I though MOH was their answer to COD and we saw how that ended.

 Re: Core rot
CEOs always do stupid blank like this. Riccitiello needs to stop inflating his corporate ego. BF3 is bloody fantastic, we get it. CoD may suck these days, but to insult gamers directly for buying CoD is just untactful. If he keeps this up I'll throw him into the same category as Kotick.
If MW3 is what we expect it to be, the same crap we've seen for the past two CoD releases, then it is indeed time for CoD to die. I think what Riccitiello was going for was bringing awareness that there are too many mindless people out there who play CoD just because they know that most people are playing that. He wants to change that mold. He just did a really blank bad job of saying it. Leave it to the other guys, John, you sound like an blank.

 Re: Core rot
I've just put the kettle on and I am about to make him a nice big warm cup of stfu.
They had some dire comments after the launch of MOH, admitting they were selling a bad product and this is just another one of those "comment moments" best left to those who get paid to talk to the press. EA are doing DICE no favours what-so-bloody-ever.

Also, I think what the guy is trying to say might be a good point and worth stating, but the way he's saying it is just ALL WRONG... If he's trying to make the point that they're hoping to steal COD's more hardcore players and get all the hype that COD exploded with, the bandwagon will come too. I think expressions along the lines of "COD's reign will rot from the core" is a little misleading and a downright foolish choice of words.

 Re: Core rot
Am I the only one who takes this as a way of saying that their core fans will eventually start to look for something different because there isn't enough innovation, they will be bored with it etc. Also, after all the things in the CoD world, I am shocked that there are people here who still consider themselves "core CoD" fans.

That's how I took it too. I wasn't offended at all. I thought maybe I needed to re-read it or something.

 Re: Core rot
It's bursting with innovation in the CoD franchise, right?
