In the German PCGames Podcast #87 a journalist says that he talked with a member of the Battlefield 3 developer DICE called Peter Bach, but perhaps he meant executive producer Patrick Bach. He asked him why there are always problems with the server browser when a new Battlefield title for the pc has been released. Bach answered that there wouldn't be problems in case the titles weren't popular. But as they are popular the systems get overrun and cause technical problems which take several weeks to be solved. Because of this it is 100% sure that there will be problems with the server browser in Battlefield 3 and that the gamers will hate Dice, he explained.

Kalms explained this a while back about BFBC2 saying the plasma software that runs the servers in BFBC2 was not meant to handle the load it had. They were going to create a new software to handle a bigger load for BF3.

But he said that there will def be issues when game gets released because they can't simulate the amount of traffic the game will have BEFORE release to properly test and work out the bugs. But he expected the browser to be smoother and faster than the BFBC2 one.

That's basically it in a nut shell. I think however with the Beta it may give them a better idea on how the server browser etc will work and if they need to improve on the servers further, but that is no guarantee that things won't go wrong.

I will forgive most server browser problems as long as there is /connect and /fav or /addfav - something like that.

There is apparently a dev console. What commands are available I don't know but I would like the same as well.

This part of battlefield is looking awesome i will buy it soon.
