Battlefield 3 Pre-Orders ‘Comparable To CoD: Black Ops’ –

If pre-orders are anything to go by EA’s on the right track with Battlefield 3 ahead of the game’s release this October.
According to Cowen & Company analyst Doug Creutz, channel checks “indicate that pre-orders are roughly comparable to those of Call of Duty: Black Ops last year, which has gone on to sell over 20 million units”.
Creutz expects EA’s game to be a “major hit” and has upped his first year sales forecast from eight to eleven million units, although he added that Modern Warfare 3 pre-orders are tracking ahead of both BF3 and Black Ops, confirming reports from retailers GAME and GameStop.
EA launched an impressive looking Battlefield 3 multiplayer gameplay trailer yesterday. http://thegamerplex.com/battlefield-3-p ... s-analyst/

I don't expect BF3 to outsell MW3, but this news is def showing that EA is catching up to the COD series and putting some heat on them. But like they say in racing, "Catching and passing are two different things." (for my iracing buddy )

Besides E3, majority of their marketing will come in the last month. And the hype the received from E3 was because of people getting their hands on the game and playing a pc multiplayer demo. So it was hype that was def deserved. And I am not going to get into the discussion about what sales/player count means to say a game is good. Very different opinions on that and we will never agree.

Good for DICE! It would be nice to see them do well, even if it is only to blast COD off the throne. Acti has no business being there (for the pc segment) so this does indeed look good. When all is said and done, apart from gripes about stuff that in general has been there since the first BF, this latest version is looking very good. To me, COD is dead & buried, so I can but wish DICE the best of luck. As we say before a scrim: "GL and HF".

Really? We have jack and blank in the Greater Toronto Area. Well, next time I go to downtown Toronto I'll have a look around, but I doubt I'll see much of anything related to video games.

Just means that a lot of people are looking forward to playing the game and they hope it's as good as DICE/EA tells us.
