forget about alpha and wait for beta It's more akin to what a CoD player would use. Ugh. Still, the controls are much the same as BC2 except the toggle crouch and the go to crouch keys need to be reversed. Toggle aim down sights is no longer an issue since you can just hex the value to on.

 Re: Alpha Trial Info Questions?
I got a few hours into the alpha today and had a pretty good time with it...definitely a few bugs to work out though.
One note about destruction, the trees falling over actually tend to stay there, at least for a long while, so you end up with downed trees everywhere that people are crawling under and jumping over and whatnot. I also noticed that sometimes they (downed trees) seem to still be there, even if you can't see them and you feel like you're stuck on an invisible wall. One time I proved this by turning and I noticed that if i looked a different direction, the tree appeared, then when i looked back it disappeared again.
The guns feel pretty great. I haven't noticed any bullet drop, but hit detection feels pretty good. It doesn't feel like the guns are lasers either (MOH). There's some inaccuracy to them, and when you fire full auto, they're all over the place in your hands (as it should be)...i think somebody spent at least a fair amount of time firing actual guns to see what they would look like from the first person perspective and how they feel. It really makes you try to chose your shots wisely, because not only will you miss on full auto, but you'll be out of ammo in about 4 seconds.
Graphics definitely need some tightening up, but again, all these comments are on an alpha build that's primary purpose is to test the servers, not for people to get the full effect of the game and its final beauty.
It took me a while to get used to finding people in the first section of the map. Gone are the old days of COD4 or earlier where you could just stop moving and watch for moving pixels, then shoot it. The whole world is fluid and everything is moving, so you have to re-train your eyes a bit, but it does happen and you do get better at it.
It's a different animal. I'll post more when I've played it more than a couple hours and when I get to see more of the later parts of the level

 Re: Alpha Trial Info Questions?
So far I've had no luck with the alpha to start with i had to move the EAProxyInstaller.exe from the games core file to the Origin folder took a shot in the dark and it worked . Had to do this on my nephews pc as well . Not impressed with having to run two programs to get there game to start origins and battle net and then it opens in a window . If i do get on a server i struggle with the key set up but ill accept that as its an alpha . I'm hoping for a better mode eg not rush for the beta and keys to be programmable . At this time ea wont be getting my money as I'm not going to be stung as i was with moh . Sorry for all the negativity maybe i'm just getting sick fps games after 10 plus years . You never know once i get to fly a plane again i may change my mind .

 Re: Alpha Trial Info Questions?
The alpha is pretty bad so far. Without away to change the keybinds and fix the terrible mouse controls the game is near unplayable for me. I've had more fun in BF play for free so far. Hopefully the beta allows me to tinker with the settings because right now the game feels like I'm playing with dual analog sticks and not a mouse.

You're doing it wrong, then. The mouse controls aren't bad. If you need to tweak them, just hex the sensitivity to something more suitable. So far, myself and many others have zero problems with the mouse. The keybinds are fine once you get used to the go to crouch being where the toggle should be. I have my controller plugged in and have tried the analog sticks. The sensitivity on those are LOL high. In any case, 85% of the people playing this alpha are forgetting one key thing: this alpha meant for server stability tests only. Of course we should always report bugs in the gameplay, but seeing as this is an old Alpha build, I'm sure DICE has found and fixed many of the bugs and glitches that are being reported to no end on the Battlelog forums. I laugh at the people on the forums who say that the alpha lacks content and that this isn't the battlefield they remember. This is an alpha build. Why in the hell would it have a ton of content? The alpha is rush mode, with 32 players, one vehicle that works in only 2 sectors, and mainly infantry combat. Of course it's not the battlefield style that you remember, it's not supposed to be. Rush mode offers some of the most intense firefights that will be in the game which is why they chose it over conquest mode. Most of the bugs will show their face when players are fighting closer together and doing things that don't happen a lot in regular conquest mode. So they need to calm the blank down and wait for the beta. I'm sure that will have conquest mode.

I've died a million times struggling with the keys, pressing grenade instead of defib was super common, or stood up from prone when i wanted to just crouch, ect. I'm 99% certain beta will be another terrible rush map (if not the same one) just like BC2. Rush mode is just Call of Battlefield (that feels more like MOH 2010 then battlefield), after spending about 15hrs in alpha, its is NOT BF2.5 as most had hoped it would be (fingers crossed that is just Rush mode, hopefully Conquest will turn my opinion around). OHH yeah and 3D targeting has to go in the worst way.
