Ya, that's what we thought about MW2. We see how well that worked out for us. :(

Words don't sell a game for me anymore after that debacle.

I don't know if you've noticed, but Tripwire is not Infinity Ward. Their releases are consistent with their statements.

Perhaps Tripwire execs have misjudged the amount of hype RO2 is getting. They could possibly think they there is more hype than there actually is resulting in teasers rather than actual HD game footage. Either way, I dun giv a fuggk I want me some of that RO2.

Well lets look at the beta for RO2.

First it was going to be out by the end of 2010
Then the first or second quarter of 2011
Then wait, if you pre-order the game, you get access to the beta in sept
Now, well we dont think we are going to have a beta, but we might do a free weekend later...

Ya sounds real crystal..

They never promised on getting a beta out in 2010 only that they would try,They always said their would be a closed beta and that it was most likely going to be the pre order to get beta access route, being independent that's their prerogative and the game/beta being delayed is a sign of a good developer making sure it's up to scratch.

bringing out a massive game and getting it perfect is never easy and in reality can never have an exact date.

See When you look at Developers that actually Don't want to release a half finished game ie ID Software/Tripwire vs DICE/IW/Treyarch/Kaos Studio's etc who do, you can see why it makes sense not to give dates. Any devoloper can give a bunch of dates and stick to them doesn't mean the game's gonna be finished......

The last word is that they don't have time to do the large closed beta. So yes you are right, they promised us a beta and now we are not getting one. Just like I said. :(

Don't know where those rumours come from, but they are not out of the mouth of TWI. TWI said that they haven't changed their internal schedule, and only wanted to elongate the bigger closed beta.

So from there you can assume that the closed beta will happen before the original release date of 30 sept, as that internal date hasn't moved, and will last for 2 weeks past the original release date. Which means that that the closed beta is likely coming pretty soon. I guess somewhere next week.

Yosh said that there was going to be a large closed beta with 20k + keys that anyone could get in. Now it has changed to pre-orders only.

So yes TWI has changed their story and I could give other examples but this is the one that matters most to me. I need my clan friends to try it out and see if they like it before we go rent a server and buy the game. None of us liked the first one so we want to see what the second one is like.
