DICE Announces Battlefield 3 Battlelog Supported Web Browser
Quote: THE BUZZ: The web browsers that will support Battlefield 3′s Battlelog have been revealed by DICE.
Battlelog will be supported by all three major browsers (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome). Safari and Opera will run the service, though it’s not guaranteed to run bug free. Joakim Bodin, Battlelog Developer for DICE revealed the information on Twitter:
“Battlelog supports launching with IE8+, Firefox 4+ and Chrome. Safari and Opera on Windows may work fine, but no guarantees.”
Bodin also mentioned that Flash Player will not be required to run the service.
EGM’s TAKE: Would be nice if EA supported all browser platforms, but as long as the big boys are covered things should be fine behind enemy lines. http://www.egmnow.com/articles/news/dic ... -browsers/

Poor Opera it's the best browser that no one wants to support and all the other browsers steal from.

This is what the top commenter of that news link had to say.. Quote: After using Battlelog for the alpha, I can say that it's the best way to manage a game, instead of having to navigate through a main menu, wait for loading, buggy server browsers, etc. BL is lightweight, innovate, very useful, and easy to use, so kudos to DICE! The only thing I would add to that statement is, that it's also faster than any other in-game browser I have used.

Hmmm, well, at least Firefox is on the list. Imagine if it said "IE Only" Good lord what horror.

opera was really good until the last 2 updates, have been messed up a bit for me ever after a full reinstall... whatever I can just use another of the browsers, no problem at all.

Thanks liquid for your contribution to the thread it was most insightful I tried for a time to use it when it was signify faster than chrome and firefox but they have caught up in terms of speed and it never worked on DOD/Government websites. Anyways chrome ripped off it's UI layout and tab system then Firefox followed suit so now there isn't much reason to use it over another browser once you install add-ons on them. I switch between browsers allot and just use a password and bookmark system to keep them all in sync.
