Post Spore and DRM
Hopefully, we will not have this to contend with when CoD:WW comes out.

I've been around gaming since the first video game. Something similar to DRM came out strong back in the 80's and it failed miserably. It only hurts us the folks who actually pay money for this stuff.

I read about that when it came out and was rather surprised by the fact they would actually go as far as to doing that.
Especially since any real game pirate simply bypasses it. I'd like to know how much this actually helps.

This protection not only fails, its adding to the problem!!!
I reckon because of more ways to try and protects games more people have gotten involved in bypassing these stupid protection ideas. The people who wouldn't pirate are the victims really because they do nothing now and now have to resort to so called cracks to play their game.
Anyways isn't it funny that Will Wright and his team spent 5 years so I hear on this game and now the drm is getting more attention then the actual game. Spore got screwed by EA :(

also good to be back :D

Why does EA hate its customers?

I hope Melissa Thomas and "all others similarly situated" win this legal battle. As I said in other post, it´s the only way EA and other companies will learn their lesson

Apparently all the anti-DRM folks are heading to Amazon to slam Spore's ratings. They are giving the game 1.5 out of 5 stars and seriously affecting the casual players who don't understand why the rating is so low. This is causing mixed signals for the buying public who have heard the game is great but see a measly "1.5" rating.

Check this out:

You can tell by the insane bipolar scoring that something is up.

I love the internet.
