first impressions from a cod player
Movement seems a lot more difficult ,i do'nt think this is a bad thing , after playing for a few hours i tried BO, seemed like you were ice skating .Will take a lot of getting used to. Using basic assault guns at the moment they are hard to fire in their basic form with wild recoil when you're standing and moving yet youre a sitting duck if you are crouching still.Probably will become easier once i get used to squad dynamics.(no squad in cod) blank thats a good marketing line Graphics are superb and at high settings fov 90 theres a lot to take in making it very difficult to spot the enemy at first with all the visual distraction. The overall sound is excellant, but the directional sound is poor ,I think this is why they have made the muzzle flash so obvious to give you more sense of were the bullets are coming from. I think MW3 will seem too easy after a month playing this game ,but who knows we only have trailers so far.

I think it plays well and the movements are what BC2 should have had.

Yeah, BF3 certainly "feels" a lot better than the past Battlefield games.

I've adjusted some of my graphics settings down and changed by keybindings ... finding movement a lot easier.

Re: first impressions from a cod player
I will say this though. The movements are more fluid than BC2, but, after playing for a few days off and on, I'm not all that impressed with the graphics and textures. It's a bit "meh". From all the hype leading up to this game, I figured my rig would burst into flames just on the installation of the game alone. The lighting is excellent and the sound is extremely good, which fooled me into thinking the graphics were better than they actually are. Am I alone in this personal opinion? I wonder if they will do a texture patch like Crytek did with Crysis 2. Who knows.

I agree the GFX r not amazing like we were led to believe, its not ugly but its not jaw dropping like it was made out to be. Also it seems to be very blue the whole world seems to have a light blue tint on it

Re: first impressions from a cod player
some of the textures are really low res, tehran highway's textures are terrible.
I feel the graphics are miles ahead of the sound, I don't think the sound is good at all, too much ambient noise pumped in. And the lighting looks nice but the lens flares and glare needs to go, too much of the game is flash and ohhhs and awwwes then what actually works, the lighting and sound actually detract from the gameplay IMO.

Re: first impressions from a cod player
For me the general sound is good, but I cannot for the life of me hear enemy soldiers moving around me. I agree totally with born's assertions on the graphics. Lots of flash, little practical value. I always felt Dice makes games from the top down, instead of from the bottom up.

The explosions and other crap sound nice, but detract from the actual gameplay. Fine sound and graphics might be techinical marvels, but they hinder more then they help.
