they're make games for amateur play. They are driven by money, and they really don't care enough. Why can counter strike be played for something like 6 years, but cod4 has to get played out in 1 year. Its really because the difference in their mindsets.
Profit// Strong "Poops and doodads"(little things that are stupid, graphicy, sexy, and dont really enhance gameplay) weak core <-----(n00b magnetz) vs. care love r e s p e c t// strong core weak "poops and doodads" <--------(1337 6969)
Profit=popping out games until activision's vajj explodes <--- (my prediction) care love r e s p e c t=game you can play and scrim and play and scrim and tourney and play and scrim. rinse and repeat. and after a couple years you realize, "wow i still like this."
thats why scripting is/was so fun. cuz its somethign you can do when you get bored of the game and i could use my knowledge of the games core to my advantage .
theres nothing to be spoiled here. cod5 looks like noobsauce, and will be. hopefully pro mod will be fastastic .

I don't think i speak your language but from what i could make out, i agree.
Over the years we have all learnt that game developers couldn't give a baboon's picktail about us loyal gamers. They will pickout 10 random pros, ask for their opinion and assume we'll all love it. Once the game is released and they start receiving complaints, they will mysteriously stop caring while they're sipping on some cocktail on some island off some cute chick - or dude in treyarchs case!! har harr what a funny!
Anyways, humor aside..
Cod4 didn't desperately need promod. It was a good playable game on it's own. Pam / Damn and Promod simply enhanced the gameplay making the game a legend. Cod5 is unplayable without it. Us serious gamers see no serious competition potential coming out of it as it is. And who's to say promod will improve it enough to make it cod4 worthy? The maps are still gonna be blank and the sound needs some epic restructure. On the bright side, the weapon balance concept is starting to look believable after the first patch
Ehhh my hopes are low! These are dark days indeed.. But as our good friend would say "Fear not, for not all is lost!"..
Matt.
P.S. Who that good friend is i have no idea. Forgot his name or who he was and what he did..I dont really know what history book he came out of - if he came out of one at all...
