I was getting that error message, playing a minute or two in a more "normal" server and then returning to the power server fixed the error for me.

found a 20k/kill server but u had to be lvl 20+ otherwise you would get the server command overflow

I may be the odd man out here, but the power ranking servers are the most retarded thing I've seen outside of outright hacking. The fun of the game is actually EARNING your rank. I accidentally stumbled upon one of these servers when I was at level 48. It was chaos and before I realized up I had ranked up 3 times. In less than 2 minutes. When I realized what was up I dropped out and have since leveled 65 the way it was meant to be done.

Why peeps find it necessary to take the easy route to 65 or texture or glitch hack is beyond me. I always enjoyed the challenge of earning everything I get with my own talent.

I completely agree with you. It's a real shame that this was in the game so long before Treyarch found out, but even more of a shame that it was there in the first place. I was looking forward to a game where ranks actually meant something (How long you played, not skill of course )

First there was the way to hack your rank, which was the worst. Now there is this.
The solution to both problems which still exist in WaW is to keep the player data on the server - which is amazing that they haven't realized this first (Lets hope CoD:MW2 has it). This would stop rank hacking/cheating so incredibly much.

I can see why people are quite excited to be getting their ranks up, but what's the point? After you reach 10th prestige, it becomes a lot less exciting. Having the ability to rank up adds so much to a game and in the long run it'd be worth it. Instead of getting bored of the game at 5 or 6 months because of reaching the final prestige, you could be playing for twice that time before you finally become bored with it. It extends the length of the game for you.

Ya know, I was not going to jump on the bandwagon with the rest of the guys who are using this to rank up. Then after going back through all the posts here regarding broken items and seeing that the Devs are taken what they think is a well deserved break, I plan to fully exploit this.
I was one of the people who kept posting for us to be patient and give Treyarch enough time. This ranking problem is my breaking point. I payed for the game, CoD6 is already under way. With all the projects I work on, I'll never make it through all the prestige levels before the next release.I was just going to hit level 65 and not worry about prestige. Not anymore. I agree that playing on these servers is disrespectful to the legit players and I apologize to those of you who will be playing it straight. There are so many exploits with this game that video footage can even be manipulated by the novice player. Treyarch should have pushed the date back to '09, but "tis the season to be greedy". This ranking situation is a problem they should have pushed to the top of the list if it even is fixable. I'm not sure what they can do to solve it. In my opinion there just needs to be a few servers that don't install the patch and we'll always have these ranking servers out there. It is what it is and I view legit ranking simply as a waste of time now.
As with the rest of the series, I'll be in line to buy the next release as soon as it comes out. Can't wait to see what gets rolled out next.

The solution is rather simple - remove the commands from the game.

I believe the SD rank up is fair game, but changing the XP is taking it too far.

i leveled from 1-65 doing just plain old tdm, then to 7prestige with sd pwr lvl. however i heard of people with 5k/kill servers so i went looking and boom 1k,4k,10k,and 20k servers all tdm. i saw some1 go from rank 65 no prestige to rank 10 prestige in less than 45 mins. i mean holy crap takes me days and days of gameplay they do it in minutes. funny thing is even with all the rank 10 prestige people running around they are HORRIBLE. skill > "rank" anytime

Many have adopted just that line of reasoning. Just for me personally, I think it completely defeats the purposes of buying a FPS ranked system game with XPs.

Which will probably be done in the next patch. But it's kinda pointless now. All server admins have to do is not patch their servers. Of course, this will mean less traffic as time goes by.
