Hey guys! Recently, I've started to play CoD2 again and DL'd the danzig config. I've actually used it before and caused me no problems [This was back in 2008 March]

However, after reinstalling CoD2 and executing the config, for some reason, I can hear all the ambient sounds, enemy gunshots, etc, but I CAN"T hear my own gun shots. Whenever I shoot, it makes no sound, I see the animation and all fine. Also, whenever I join a modded server, somethings get screwed up. Like, I joined this rifle only moded server and I could see my "default weapon" which appeared to be a big blob with the character pointing like a gun...don't ask, lol.

Anyways, I've tried stock config, DX7/DX9, and it all worked fine. It's just this config, but it doesn't make sense cause it never happened to me before. Can anyone help me, please? I'd really love to get back into CoD2! Thanks in Advance!

I followed the danzig link but instead of downloading a file it opened a web page with lines of text/code. is this right or did I goof?

That's correct, you can right click and save it, or copy the code into your config.

Hello everyone. All I can say is WOW! I tried a lot of configs and most of them were just the same, I couldn't really notice the big difference. Then I stepped here on this interview and I thought "Well that's just talking" and I downloaded the config and I was AMAZED how it works.. It dropped my FPS a bit, I had about 90-125 but now it's 70-100.. But I don't mind it at all. The accuracy is AMAZING now! I can pull such great reflex shots with rifles that I could never before. I can't describe the changes that this config did, I just FEEL it! I've been looking for some config for a long time and I can say that I will use this one for a loooong time! Danzig thank you for this and keep up the good work! Cheers!

im interested if bashandslash has a similar cfg for cod4 that keeps your fps high and has great accuracy

Thanks to everyone for the compliments and pleasant comments. And thanks Yitch once again for the opportunity to gain such a phenomenal reputation within the CoD2 community. Over the past year or so after the release of my config, Ive been receiving Xfire friend requests at least 5+ times a week, all of them with something good to say. Ill admit, sometimes I wish I haven't done that interview and kept it a secret forever, but I'm really grateful to Bash & Slash and Jock Yitch for being so kind as to publish my creation. Ive seen my name on many sites and am being constantly reminded that my config improved someones game play, majority of them being European. Croatians and Germans I seem to get along with alot.

I tried your config but when I try to open it from the console I get a "insert text overflow" error.

In order for it to load I had to remove some of the command lines.

I tried just adding it to my regular config but the settings are removed when I start the game up.

Is there a way to get this to work?
