 Re: MW2 PC Optimism
Hi, I kinda go with vice on this but what we really need is a definitive answer from IW before we all freak out. I have no doubt that IW would love to take full control of the game but its the the modders that keep it going for me. I've gone 40% but hope for better. Yes I will buy it. Yes I will play it. But only time will tell how long it stays on top of the desk.. cod4 never left..

I think this is all BS we have spoken on the cast about that things were taken from X4 mod and in that case they wouldn't screw the modders and mappers no way we will get dedi servers as usual!

 Re: MW2 PC Optimism
Ticked 40% as of right now.
On one hand the game looks and feels brilliant just from the Vid's. However, all of the news about the Dedicated Server issue is very concerning.
I have already set my sites on BFBC 2 coming in March. I will purchase MW2 but maybe not right away. Might give it a week to listen to the reviews.
Kind of taking a wait and see attitude. This kind of drama has always happened before a CoD realease.
Over all it is a shame the great gaming companies seem to be so fixated on the consoles when its the PC that is a huge part of the market when you take into account all of the other factors.
Video Cards High end Ram CPU's Cases MB's HD's Monitors ISP's Mice Keyboards Sound Cards Headsets Mountain Dew
Pretty big chunk of the economy we drive eh?
If there are no games I would say the typical PC would not need an upgrade for 10 years. Just take a gander at that crap you are forced to use at the office. Corporate doesn't update as often as us gamers now do they. Boy this sure would put a damper on the above mentioned product makers bottom line.

 Re: MW2 PC Optimism
I find it absolutely impossible to answer this poll.I really have no idea.I don't see how anyone could.Activision and IW have done enough damage to the psyche of this community through their silence and total Xbox focus to create doubt in anyone's mind. If you would have asked what the loss of dedicated servers would mean to the community...well I think we all know that answer. I am just hoping IW's packaged goods people have not found traditional pc gaming to be a distracting waste of manhours.
Will I be surprised if PC MP is listen only? Not one bit! Will I be surprised if the PC MP is released as usual? No Will I be disappointed if PC MP is released late? No Will I be disappointed if the community is not prepared for the worst? Absolutely!
We have hitched our wagon to this game for a long time and we are about to see if our own peccadilloes have caused us to miss the forest for the trees.
Treyarch....................Will you still be there for us in Vietnam?

 Re: MW2 PC Optimism
80% vote from me. Haven't posted on the boards in awhile, been a little busy with a few things. I still try to get by to see what Jock and the rest of you are chatting about. It motivated me to type up a few things on my site based on the few things I have been reading. On a lot of things, I don't like to focus on little details, I like to step back and look at the big picture. I commented on a few things HERE. I'm sure they have toyed with the idea of doing things differently one day but don't you think we would have already been leaked info a long time ago if any type of new concepts were going to change the way we game in MW2. I think we might see some big changes in the years to come, but not right now. Just check out my thread if you're interested in my opinions.

 Re: MW2 PC Optimism
When this poll went up I voted for 20%. Now I'm seriously considering going 0%.
The fact that it is called IW.net and not COD.net or Activision.net might be a good thing, we might have some chances left. We have to contain it and keep it that way, strictly IW.
Someone from IW has said that they wanted to go console full speed but Activision held them back. Well if they love consoles so much, let them go.

 Re: MW2 PC Optimism
After reading up on things today I am disappointed. I changed my vote.
I am no longer even looking forward to this game. I wish I had held off on preordering but I figured with the history of the series it would be a safe bet and I wanted in on day one this time. Thanks for letting me down IW.
This will be the last game I buy for the PC from Activision/IW I will just add them to the list of other companies I no longer buy games from.
The only hope we have at this point is that it fails hardcore and they get the picture and fix it with a patch. I doubt that it is going to happen though.
