Post new build advice
This is my proposed new (and first, incidentally) build. Just looking for some advice and to make sure I'm not missing anything. Yes, I am aware that I haven't included a monitor or OS. Those bases are already covered. Also, keep in mind this a *very* budget build. The only thing I'm worried about is that the reviews say that the GPU is huge. Its a double slot. Is that really gonna be that big a deal? I'd like to keep my options open for a dual GPU setup in the future, but I don't know if that would fit.

SAMSUNG CD/DVD Burner Black SATA Model SH-S223C $29.99

Antec Three Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case $59.95

ASUS P7P55D LE LGA 1156 Intel P55 ATX Intel Motherboard $129.99

Subtotal: $860.88

Grand Total: $884.89

My list looks short. I feel like I'm forgetting something. Its been a long day over here, somebody help me out. :)

/edit Also, all prices are from Newegg. If anyone knows an equally reputable company that can do better on the prices please share that information with me. I've already emailed Newegg customer support to see if they'll hook it up with some promo codes. Hopefully I'll get a guy that hates his job and he'll give me half-off just to spite his boss.

Don't forget your sata cables, power leads and any other little bits you may need, like case fans, also check and make sure your cpu is retail and not oem,as more often than not oem cpu's don't come with heatsink and fan.
I'm assuming you already have a monitor to use,so make sure your graphics card has suitable connectors also.
Hope this was of help, and good luck with the build : )

His case comes with tons of fans, and his motherboard should include several SATA cables, and so on with it. If there is something specific needed once all the parts arrive, I'm sure they can be found at a local box-store or similar.

Agree entirely for the case, but in all fairness it depends where you get your motherboard from,a lot of retailers only stock vanilla flavour bundles and have had the problem before myself, where, you get set to build, and then realise your missing something, then have to go 2 miles to the nearest store, and end up paying twice for a cable than you would online.
