The topic on today’s BASH is the MMO-shooter Global Agenda. Big
thanks to Global Agenda aficionado and friend of the show, Gareth (aka
Mister G), who shares with us his knowledge of the game.
GA is a third-person MMO-shooter that behaves and plays like an FPS
and has elements of an RPG built in. Why showcase an MMO? Well, with all
the talk of Activision trying to imprint a World of Warcraft template
onto its premiere FPS franchise, the CoD community might get its very
own MMO sooner than it bargained for. For this reason, we thought we
would take a long hard look at a good MMO-shooter and see what all the
fuss is about and whether we need to worry.
The good news from Mister G is that not only are MMO’s fun to play, they
don’t have to leave you penniless at the end of the month. Just be
prepared to become an addict.
The game, developed by Hi-Rez studios, runs on dedicated servers.
Hi-Rez is led by a very successful entrepreneur, Erez Goren. Erez
already made his fortune and is now running his gaming company as a
labor of love. That is good news for the fans of Global Agenda, who now
get a 22nd-century Earth sci-fi thriller environment to play in, simply
by purchasing the game - no subscription fees.
Listening to Mister G's enthusiasm about this game was infectious.
