There are quite a few early-birds out there in CoD-land who not only have CoD4:Modern Warfare for PC from Activision but are already online fragging themselves silly in full multiplayer mode.
Hard to understand this, given that there are still two full days to go before we can buy it.
Clearly there have been quite a few people honored with play testing it before general release.
Enough grumbling though (grrrrr), what's the consensus regarding online play? Has IW fixed some of the issues that used to plague CoD2? Tell us Jock. Tell us!
We asked one of these early-bird-gets-the-worm types and here are some responses:
Technical Issues:
1. The "Info String Length" problem in CoD2 has been fixed for CoD4.
2. The player limit on any server is a maximum of 32.
3. COD4 server specs are considerably lower than COD2.
4. Map load times are much lower than CoD2. Undoubtedly due to the new FastFile formats.
5. Maps are larger than those in CoD2.
Playability:
1. MP is outstanding. The visual effects are rich and immersive.
2. The "Lean Glitch" has been fixed.
3. Lag is noticeably lower than CoD2.
