BASH 75: Number One
Written by jockyitch

Try to imagine what it would feel like to being Number One at your chosen profession?

For The Evil Geniuses, their imaginations don’t have to work too hard - they’re living it. When it comes to playing CoD4, Team EG is now being called the number one CoD4 team in the world by most eSport pundits after their successful appearances at three European LANs.

BASH 71: The Euro LANs

Ladies and Gentlemen Boys and girls, welcome to BASH I am Jock YItch.

With us today, having come back from one of the most successful road trips in CoD history, we have Ted aka w!$eGUy from the Evil Geniuses triumphantly returning to the program..

How's it going Ted?

Getting back in the groove I see...you guys are back to your winning ways in CEVO, defeating MoB Deep the other night, but that ain't nuthin compared to what you guys have done these past few weeks.

Earlier this month you guys traveled to Belgium where you placed 4th place at AEF, then you guys really brung it and finished first at TeX and at i34 just a few days ago, you lost a nailbiter to LowLandLions to finish second at that tournament.

So tell me...are you guys the best CoD4 team in the world?

AEF

- What were your impressions of AEF?

- You finished fourth there, with Dignitas giving you guys some trouble.

- Did you notice any improvements by the Euro teams over i33?

- What did you learn from AEF that made you guys dominate TeX?

- Was the promod sniper giving Rob problems?

The big win at TeX

- You steam rolled the field and went up against a LowLandLions team that had just dismantled Pandemic 13-2 earlier. LLK made up of : Joepoe, Doekoe, Restyle, Sticky, qwertYYY plays a rather interesting style. What was the early dope on these guys? How were you planning on handling them afterwatching the Pandemic match? Their performance must have worried you guys.

-  You guys sneaked past them on backlot 13-11. Describe the game if you remember it.

- There was a lot of bizarreness on the next map, Strike (which looks like it has slowly become one of your favorites).

a) The "Jihad Sticky!" incident, when Sticky attacked EG's last man with a jihad-style nade taking both himself out and EG's chances.

b) qwertYYY got an unreal team ace against Team EG as tyou guys more or less lined yourselves up for him.
c) You and rob-wiz played really great on this map keep the score 9-5. How did you guys think you were doing against these guys. Did you notice the numbers that qwertyyy was being able to score.  He was up front on the fragboard with 18 frags and his play in this Grand Final should put him in the running for best scope in the tournament.

d) At 10-8 for EG, not content with their jihad-nade-play, they took the round against you guys with four cooked nades. Four! These guys played some really whacky strats. What were you guys thinking playing against this?

Describe the end of the game. What do you remember of the post game?

The narrow loss at i34

- the loss in the Upper Bracket final to LLL. The lack of practice on Crossfire showed and you lost to them.

- You blew past mYm after that to get another chance at the Lions.

- The robby wiz song.."robby wiz, robby wiz, robby robby wiz. he's a WoW addict and an alcoholic. robby robby wiz". What's the scoop behind that song?

- You played them on backlot and won 13-8. IMO ntt played huge on this map.

- Some of my observations: The Lions were able to stop you attacks early using nades, meaning that you spent most of the first half of any round one or two men down. Did you try anything to counter this tactic of theirs?

-  Were you guys phased by all the tactical time outs they were taking?

-  Rob took up the 74u on the map. was this planned?

-  LLL seemed to plant a lot, but you guys kept defusing them.

Now the map went to crash.

- Though i expected a sniper battle on this map...rob didnt snipe early on, but qwertyyy did. Looks like you guys had the right idea and went up 4-1 right away.

- He returned to sniping later on and at the half you guys were at 9-3. Did you think at this stage that you had the game?

- Both Rob and Wombat were very effective on this map but couldnt make up for all the frag kills that LLL were getting - and in the 2nd half you guys got clobbered . Once they took the lead at 11-10 they didnt look back. What happened in that second half?

- What does LLL do that makes them so unconventional? (especially on crossfire).
- What can you do to beat them?
- Should their style be copied when playing Crossfire?

- Was the food any better?

- What did the Euro Lans do to the EG rep?

- I heard that i34 was a bit of a party, can you tell us any of the stories...

Here are some of the rumors i heard:

- A well known player tried to go to sleep under a car.
- A team manager had to be taken to hospital for drinking too much.
- A pro team tried to steal laptops at the event!

What happened to Mallorca?
