This week we have a world exclusive for everyone.
On BASH 84 we have a gentlemen that really needs no
introduction, he was on the show just a few weeks ago (we can call him
a regular now) and is a great friend of BASH.
Today we have him on to talk about a private initiative, one that
sees him getting into Web 2.0 entrepreneurship. While he knows all
about gaming, having been a long-time CoD community member and the
owner of codhq.com, he takes his expertise in the gaming arena one step
further. Let me relieve the suspense….we welcome Josh Olin to the program.
Josh is on to introduce his new web-based, community-driven, gaming aggregator that he calls: aggregame.com
Aggregame is a social news recommendation platform for video gamers. Think of it as a gamer's version of digg.com. It brings us gamers the relevant news we need and places it in one location and aggregates it!
Anyone in the gaming community will be able to upload their favorite
articles, video clips, blogs…you name it. The uploaded link will then
be reviewed by the community and it will be voted on relative to other
similar links. A competition then ensues and the most popular link
wins, which conveys instant “street-cred” to the person uploading and
provides the original material with great publicity.
Josh’s vision is quite innovative in that both the person who
created the original material and the person who “found” the item win.
As mentioned, this webcast is a BASH exclusive. We are uploading the webcast literally as aggregame.com goes live.
Please join me in wishing Josh success and help him and his partners out by using the service!
SHOW NOTES:
Ladies and Gentlemen Boys and Girls welcome to BASH I am Jock Yitch your host.
This week on BASH we have a gentlemen that really needs no introduction, he was on the show just a few weeks ago, he's actually a regular on the show...today we have him on to talk about a private initiative that he has going in video gaming, please help me welcome Josh Olin to the program.
1. Josh it's been just a few weeks like I said since you were on the show, how are you doing. How's california, nice and toasty down there? What's going on with the fires down there I heard you guys all were standing next to your fire extinguishers.
2. Well lets get to the nub of why you are here...you are on to talk about an initiative that you and some colleagues have started. You have kept this really hush hush so its really intriguing for me to find out what it is all about.
A few weeks back you alerted me about a site called aggregame.com that you mentioned you had been working on.
a) Tell me what is aggregame.com
b) Who are the other folks involved in the business with you.
c) Why the name aggregame?
3 This site sounds something like existing aggregator sites/communities out there like digg and stumbleupon.
a) Why do we need another digg?
b) What niche does aggregame fill that no one else has filled?
4. Tell me a bit about the scope of aggregame who are you hoping will use it and why will they use it?
5. You are currently in Beta is that right?
How long did this take for you to complete the site?
6. Explain the ins and outs of the website, pretend im really dumb...oh wait up, that has a ring of accuracy to it...um, let start over, just guide me through the steps I need to follow to log an interesting article into aggregame.

7. I never understood sites like Digg to be honest. Why would people go out of their way to promote stories they have read? What is the attraction to that?
Why do you think people would be attracted to your concept? What do they get from winning a match?
8. How does aggregame create a community?
9. How difficult has it been launching the site. Was it technically difficult? do you have your own dedicated server.
10. Clearly its obvious that you have the potential here of having a massive magnet for eyeballs and clearly you could act like an air traffic control of gaming...mashing the metaphor...vectoring people to various websites.
What's the strategy here ...do you make alliances with sites, will that tick off other sites? Or do you treat everyone the same?
11. In this economic climate how hard is it launching a business like this?
12. When does aggregame go live for people. Answer: It's up NOW!
13. Where does aggregame go here?
