Modern Warfare 2 FAQ

Modern Warfare 2, or MW2 as it is called in the FPS gaming community debuted on November the 10th, 2009 and was arguably the sixth game in the Call of Duty franchise.

It is being developed by Infinity Ward (IW), which also created Modern Warfare (CoD4). Currently, all advertising and promotional material from both Activision and IW have failed to mention "Call of Duty".

This has been a concious move to spin off Modern Warfare from the old Call of Duty series and develop a separate brand.

CLASSES

Riot Control - gives players a riot shield and a duel-wielding pair of SMG as the secondary weapon.  The class can draw fire away from other teammates - we saw that work in the CTF video.

First Recon class provides the french FAMAS and handguns as weapon choices.

Other classes will be Grenadier, Sniper Scout and Overwatch.

Custom classes no longer restrict the pistol as a secondary weapon - so you can choose a myriad of possibilities.

KILLSTREAKS

Copycat: mimic the class of thegamer's killer.

Painkiller: Spawn protection.
